( Merged)Skins Interested in Luke Petitgout

According to PFT the Skins are looking at Petitgout to replace Dock. Which is interesting because Petitgout is a OT, but I doubt the transiton would be to difficult. I personally do not want him unless he comes really cheap. |
Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
Someboby farts and these guys have something new to write about!
I don't have a whole lotta faith in these reports. They would want to make a move on a OT and make him a guard? Another GIANT REJECT! |
Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
Petitgout was good for the Giants, he just couldn't stay healthy. I wouldn't sign him unless it was for close to vet minimum.

Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
ill believe it when i see him ink it he is pretty darn good though

Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
If there was any truth to it, which is quite a stretch considering the source, I'd be fine with Petitgout if the price was right.
If Samuels or Jansen were to go down for a game or two, he'd be OK in a pinch. Let's just hope that never happens. |
Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
I bet he gets a pretty good contract in this market, because he is a pretty solid NFL player. Not sure about the move to guard, but if the price is right then he could be very valuable because he can easily play tackle if someone is hurt or we could move Jansen inside. I just said the same thing as Beemnseven so as you can see that's what I think as well.

Mooby - vet minimum is about right in my book - and I would go one step further and say he is brought in not as our guard but as a backup to both tackle spots to provide depth(in case Wade leaves). Then the Skins should go out and get a Holland or use a low round pick on one if need be for the Guard spot. |

Denver already signed Holland. |

Haven't you heard. Guard is the new tackle in the NFL. It is the most important position on the line and maybe on the entire offense for that matter. The players are going to be in a rush to convert to a new 50 million dollar mansion. |

Petitgout has experience playing guard, but if he comes here he will either end up being solid depth, or competing for the starting LG position. |
Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
He has guard experience.
2006 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 74 | Key Alert: None Comment: Petitgout is consistent, durable and experienced. He has some versatility, having played both tackle positions and guard in the NFL. He is tall, rangy and has good first-step quickness. His is smart and has surprisingly good feet for his size. He understands blocking angles and knows how to work defenders. He usually plays in control, rarely overextends and can handle combination moves. He is adept at cut blocking when necessary. He moves laterally with ease and has some natural ability to change directions. He can mirror and slide with most ends and run them past the pocket with his long arms. He is effective on pull and trap blocks and on the second level. His footwork and frame help him close down separation and maintain contact with defenders. But Petitgout lacks ideal power and athleticism. He can get a little upright, and he won't move the pile in the run game. He has some problems against big, strong two-gap linemen. He lacks lower-body explosiveness and isn't a great finisher. He isn't quite quick enough when isolated on the edge. |

Players with that ability are a prescious commodity in the NFL now days, and I know Bugel has always loved for his OL to be interchangable, espically at guard/center & tackle /guard. Having the ability to be versatile along the line enhances longevity in the league. |
Re: Skins interested in Luke Petitgout
he's a solid starter. if the skins don't go to the bank on him, i'd be cool with it.
