Re: Harrington Agrees to Carry Clipboard and Vick's Water Bottle for Falcons
Talk about a team with some crappy QBs! When the best passer on your roster is the worst passer of all time, somethings wrong with the way the team is being built.
And then there was Joey. After another miserable season, Harrington now stands as The Worst QB Of All Time (-2,953). This was Harrington’s third season of negative 500 points or greater (fewer?). Rick Mirer, you have been surpassed.
How's DJ Shockley's development coming along? He sucks too? Damn, the Falcons can't catch a break. |
Re: Harrington Agrees to Carry Clipboard and Vick's Water Bottle for Falcons
I guess the perk here is being able to carry Vick's "water" bottle. Maybe he'll have some "jewelry" hidden in the false compartment.

Re: Harrington Agrees to Carry Clipboard and Vick's Water Bottle for Falcons
why does the NFL keep recycling these qbacks that cant play?

Probably because they are better than all other QBs who can't play either. I don't think there is a untapped stock of decent QBs out there looking for chances. 3 QBs X 32 teams means 96 NFL caliber QBs are needed. I am guessing there are only maybe half that many who could lead a decent team to 6 or more wins. |

What happened to the blue avatar, SS? Now, I have to change my sig. But not right away.
Oh and did you all now that Joey Harrington is the cousin of Irish golfer Padraig Harrington who did okay at the Masters this weekend? What's that? Everyone knows this already? Allright, see you all in another month. |

Ego, coaches see a player that has tons of potential but not producing so they usually start to think that they can be the one that can turn them around. The highest honor to bestow upon a coach is to call them a guru of some sort. |

not to high on joey, you can see the scared in his eyes at the line before the snap. falcons FO is in my opinion, in a lot of hot water this year, they have tried and failed to be able to find the right pieces to complimet vick and actually make some noise .. . maybe there is no missing piece or one player that can make vick a consistent winner

Not big on Harrington, this job fits him well.

Harrington sucks. But Michael Vick gets no respect. Has the guy ever had a top notch WR?
Harrington sucks. But Michael Vick gets no respect. Has the guy ever had a top notch WR?
Well, his team drafted two of em in the first round and they can't do anything because they never get the ball.
Most guys on the waiver wire throw the ball better than Vick. You just can't judge Vick without considering the value of a QB who can pick up 1000 yards with his legs, because thats really the only reason you keep a guy like him around. Harringtons a better passer than Vick, but I'd much rather have Vick on my team because hes a better player overall. Neither is a top 32 QB in this league, IMO. |

Atlanta is doing this completely wrong. They should understand the fact that no matter what they bring in by way of receiving talent, Vick's inabilities are going to limit their effectiveness. They should be pouring resources into the defense and allowing Vick's atleticism to get that defense a lead. It's kinda late now because Vick's pretty much at his apex as far as passing goes. He's going to lose his edge as age begins to sap his elusiveness and it's going to happen quick. Atlanta doesn't have enough time to build a dominate D through the draft. |

The problem is they can't catch it. No team's starting wr's dropped more passes than Atl. Just cause your a high draft pick does not mean you can play. We as Redskins fans know this very well. Does anyone remember Desmond Howard, Michael Westbrook, Rod Gardner and Taylor Jacobs? To say waiver wire guys throw better than Michael Vick is simply ridicules. Dude has a great quick release, has a very strong arm and throws a nice tight spiral. He's a great thrower, but he is not a great passer yet. But the only true target the guy has is Crumpler. He has never had a top notch wr and it shows. He has no confidence in his current wr's. It will be interesting to see how the new staff handles him. |

Roddy White and Michael Jenkins probaly won't be much in this league no matter where they go. I hold my position on the fact that the worst thing the Falcons can do is to try to bring in receivers to improve their passing offense. Vick completes such a low percentage (and yes some of that is drops--no more than 1-2% though because all receivers drop passes sometimes) But it's not rediculous at all to say that waiver wire guys pass better than Vick. The guy's never even come remotely close to putting up an average season throwing a football. You can't blame that on receivers. He reminds me of a guy making his first pro start every time he plays. He's got great athleticism, and gives his team a lot of points with his legs, but I'm guessing no more then he takes away with his inaccurate passes and questionable decision-making. |
