Bold prediction: Sean Taylor will have an agent before the end of next week?

skins009 07-20-2004 09:24 AM

The kid is 21 years old and he's staring a new phase of his life. Has he made mistakes already hell ya. But the only thing thats gonna matter is how he does in week 1 against the bucs. I think he'll then put all our nervousness to rest when he dominates. He was def. the right pick and history will prove it.

MTK 07-20-2004 09:42 AM

But will he be on the field week one?

If he doesn't get his act together very quickly I can't see Gibbs putting him in the lineup, especially if he has a lengthy holdout.

Gmanc711 07-20-2004 11:24 AM

Vince Wilfork the DT with the New England Patriots, just became the second first round pick to sign. I would be optomistic and say this is about to be a string of first round signings, but who cares if we STILL DONT HAVE A AGENT!!

skinsfanthru&thru 07-20-2004 11:24 AM

the pessimist in me is very worried about this whole thing, but I hope Taylor finally makes up his freaking mind and gets his head out of his ass.

memphisskin 07-20-2004 11:59 AM

I would hope the guy wants to play football. But what's the holdup? Or does the thought of getting 12 million to sign not motivation enough?

Off the wall question, is the amount of the signing bonus pre-tax or post-tax? Does he get a check for $12 million and Snyder pays the taxes or does he get $12 million minus taxes and the chunk that FICA takes out? Anybody know? Anybody even care?

MTK 07-20-2004 12:21 PM

I'm sure the player takes the tax hit and the '$12M' is before any applicable taxes.

Dana87 07-20-2004 12:29 PM

Yes, thats what I would be worried about. Give him $12M and look at all the taxes he would have to pay. He might end up in the Poor House. All kidding aside this kid will get his act together and be in camp by the second week of camp.

Winskins 07-20-2004 12:44 PM

Hopefully all this worry will make us all the more excited when he picks his agent and signs a contract (before training camp....)

SkinsNative 07-20-2004 01:32 PM

why don't we just negotiate with him directly?

That Guy 07-20-2004 02:18 PM

same reason bush doesn't perform heart surgery... there's a lot you've got to know or you'll regret it later.

SkinsRock 07-20-2004 02:27 PM

At first I thought maybe he has picked an agent, but the paperwork just hasn't been filed yet, but then there would probably be at least some speculation of who it is....and maybe even something from the agent himself. But no, nothing...... What's up with this guy???
I'm still optimistic and think (hope) this will pass, and he will be in camp at least by a week or so into it....

Riggo44 07-21-2004 03:11 PM

Give him time.. If he's not in camp in the frist week. I might start changing my mind.

BossHog 07-22-2004 03:46 PM

Why or what is the issue here? Taylor hasn't been a 'problem'.
