NFL's Safety Tandems
I thought I would make a list of all the safety tandems in the league, to just give an idea of the competition Taylor and Landry have. I know a lot of people around here are already crowning them as the best tandem in the NFL, but by the looks of this list they have some work to do.
BAL: FS Dawan Landry SS Ed Reed BUF: FS Ko Simpson SS Donte Whitner CIN: FS Madieu Williams SS Dexter Jackson CLE: FS Brodney Pool SS Sean Jones DEN: FS John Lynch SS Nick Ferguson HOU: FS C.C. Brown SS Glen Earl IND: FS Bob Sanders SS Antoine Bethea JAX: FS Reggie Nelson SS Donovin Darius KC: FS Greg Wesley SS Jarrad Page MIA: FS Renaldo Hill SS Yeremiah Bell NE: FS Artrell Hawkins SS Rodney Harrison NYJ: FS Kerry Rhodes SS Erik Coleman OAK: FS Stuart Schweigert SS Michael Huff PIT: FS Ryan Clark SS Troy Palamalu SD: FS Marlon McCree SS Clinton Hart TEN: FS Lamont Thompson SS Chris Hope ARZ: FS Robert Griffith SS Adrian Wilson ATL: FS Chris Crocker SS Lawyer Milloy CAR: FS Mike Minter SS Nate Salley CHI: FS Mike Brown SS Adam Archuleta DAL: FS Ken Hamlin SS Roy Williams DET: FS Daniel Bullocks SS Kenoy Kennedy GB: FS Nick Collins SS Marquand Manuel MIN: FS Dwight Smith SS Darren Sharper NO: FS Josh Bullocks SS Kevin Kaesviharn NYG: FS Will Demps SS Gibril Wilson PHI: FS Brian Dawkins SS Sean Consodine SF: FS Keith Lewis SS Michael Lewis SEA: FS Deon Grant SS Michael Boulware STL: FS O.J. n.e now has brandon meriweather

Re: NFL's Safety Tandems
I like our chances at setting the bar, give LL and ST one year working together. We will be the most feared tandem at the safety position in the league!
With ST we get alot of respect, add another little ST, LOOK OUT. |

see he is an X factor because he if you beat him, he will stomp on you. All WRs are scared. |

Yeah, we will see if he can beat out Artrell Hawkins, but for now I gave it to Hawkins since he is the returning starter. |

As it stands now we are atleast in the top five, but it's going to take us acouple of years to catch up to teams like Baltimore, and the New York Jets who I think have one of the most underated safety tandems in the NFL. |
Re: NFL's Safety Tandems
Look how well dawan landry played with ed reed last year as a rookie. I believe that our secondary will be dramaticaly improved and will give the d-line more time to get to the passer, along with disguising more blitzing packages, with two dynamic safetys.

Re: NFL's Safety Tandems
everyones too eager to call shaun and laron the best...
im interested to see how their 1st year together compares with meriweather and harrison's (assuming both rookies get to start). and we even play new england midseason if im not mistaken (?). could be very interesting.... |
Re: NFL's Safety Tandems
Denver SS is Nick Ferguson, Foxworth was just filling in for injury i believe

Thanks for the info, I updated the list to include Ferguson, and for Earthquake I replaced Shaun Williams with Deke Cooper. |
Re: NFL's Safety Tandems
There is a big difference between "most feared" and "best." I think you'll see a lot of WRs short arming balls over the middle. But Taylor bit on just about every pump fake he saw last year and was pretty poor in coverage, and Landry is a rookie. No doubt they have the potential to be far and away the best tandem, but they won't start the season with that distinction. After finishing 31st overall, the entire D has a ton to prove.
