Truck Event Help
 

I got a promotion at work and my new job requires me to coordinate a grassroots marketing campaign to promote our products...

Toyota is co-oping me 50% up to 5k to put on a Tundra Launch Event. I proposed a huge Truck Show/ Party to my boss fully expecting it to be shot down for the budget reasons, but he's all for it...

Now Im nervous... I'm a car salesman... and a trainer... not an event planner.

I'm having a few contests people can enter their trucks into, and I have [URL="http://www.thejumpworks.com"]these guys[/URL] helping with the entertainment. I'm spending around 5K between mailing invitations, securing the location, and jumpworks.

I still need food vendors, rest rooms, and music... at the least. I'm also on the lookout for one of those guys to bring in a mechanical bull and charge whatever they want for rides... hopefully I won't have to pay them if they can cover their own costs...

What I need is publicity. I need enough people to show up to make my boss believe grassroots marketing is not a waste of money. we spend far too much in ad campaigns.

Also any ideas for the event itself would be greatly appreciated!

Talk to SBF - I bet he's help supply some BBQ for your event.

And just make sure it's heavily broadcasted on here. 12th could use this as another excuse to meet up with Hessy ;)

I'm probably 4 hrs from VA beach...

He could charge whatever for the rides and I could cover a bit of travel expenses if I needed to.

I'm not sure of the mechanics of it, but an email blast may be relatively cheap. if you can get the email lists for the redneck truck magazine recipients in your area, you may have something. Also, if some of your suppliers can get some advertising in with yours for the event, they usually can cut a deal for their services. Good luck, big job!

Sad as it sounds, you may want to use an Extremeskins.com account to publicize it over there. This site is much better, but for some odd reason they have thousands more members.

I gave them my information a couple of days ago and have yet to hear anything...

I'm not whoreish enough to go to extremeskins.... I don't ever go to the site so I wouldn't feel right about advertising over there...

I'm gonna completely whore out myspace and some other enthusiasts sites, though.
