Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was released from prison on Thursday for medical reasons after serving just over three days of a 23-day sentence but she will be confined to her home for 40 days, officials said.

Personally, I've seen people do far warse with less punishment... They were using her (public image) to make a point, which I think is kind of twisted and unfair.

She may very well have good medical reason but one thing is for sure...she has the best lawyers money can buy. I'd like to say this is a case of "money talks, bullshit walks" but I can't. She could have HIV for all we know.

Reports state she was approaching a nervous breakdown. So I guess they did the only reasonable thing. They let her go. Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it can DAMN sure buy freedom!

Nervous breakdown? Give me a break. Local confinement facilities and prisons have medical centers on site. They are more than capable of providing adequate treatment and if they can't then the inmate is shipped to the hospital, but they are still held in custody. They are never released for medical reasons.

They should have just put a paper gown on her and transferred her to the medical unit. If they had done that, I'm willing to bet she would have straightened up really quick and stopped all this BS.

honestly if you are waiting for something to wake up paris you will have a long wait. She is a spoiled rich little brat and there is no way around it. Basically she is a loser. Her life is basically for public enterianment. What horrible way to live your life.

I'm shocked and awed at you Lady B. An innocent child such as that. After all, she will still be a prisoner in her..............$68m.......42 room.........house.....with tennis courts, pools, work out facility, heli-pad, household staff of 8.
