Training Camp Insider: LaRon Landry's Groin Contusion (seriously)
 

The Skins top draft pick, and the sixth overall pick in the draft, safety LaRon Landry, is not practicing today, and probably will miss the entire weekend mini camp, Bubba Tyer said. Landry took a shot to the groin this week and was walking pretty gingerly. One look at him and you could tell something just wasn't right with his gait. Landry, without a helmet or pads, stood on the sidelines for about the first 25 minutes of special teams practice, and just walked back to the facility a minute ago. Bubba said he is day to day and it's nothing to worry about long term, just a freakish injury. I think any male out there can instantly relate to insta-pain that can be derived from a knock to the groin, but I am sure Landry is getting some ribbing from the veterans, who love to have fun at the

I've been hit in the junk with a paintball and it stings, but it's nowhere near as bad as getting hit in the ear IMO. That was the only time that a shot really freaked me out/laid me out for a minute.
Plus, I'm like Warren from There's Something About Mary when it comes to my ears, so I freaked out a bit.

Let's hope he wasn't shot by Sean Taylor.

As Springs and Smoot know, he is the most dangerous teammate we have.

On the other hand, if it WAS Taylor, I expect no one will steal his ATVs in the future! ;-)

My sympathies go out to Landry, hopefully he doesnt lose a nut in the process. My nephew (8 years old) had to go into surgery last week for testicular torsion. He handled it like a trooper (they gave him morphine, which doesn't seem ethical to give to an 8yr old IMO). Although it wasn't a sports injury, the doctor said it isn't uncommon for athletes to get knocked in the jewels and have one twist up on them, requiring immediate surgery. He said its EXTREMELY painful, not just overstating here, but it usually gets to the point where the guy throws up from the pain. I'm sure Landry doesn't have this problem b/c if he had it would have been MUCH bigger news

Bad place to get hit with a paintball!!!!! Almost as bad as getting hit with a real bullet. I hope this is not some type of bad omen, and Landry becomes the team's new Taylor Jacobs.
