oooo, oooo, I got this one... "I don't see the problem with signing him for a vet. min." "I mean, he could probably be used for depth, at a vet. min" "I'm sure that he's got something left, I'd take him for a vet. min"... and then it digresses. |
Re: simeon rice
For once a player who I would gladly overpay to finish up his career here. Let him play 35% of the defensive snaps. He is still a better DE than anyone we have except for Carter. Who are the other DE's again????? Daniels, Wynn give me a break. Rice is better than both of those guys with his eyes closed.

Re: simeon rice
I would love to sign him, but I can't see him signing for anything less than a crazy contract. He's very old, but pass rushers like him are a rare breed. I don't see it happening though.

Re: simeon rice
In 2005 he did have 12 sacks, he might have something left in the tank.

But I would like him on the team as long as it isnt a crazy contract. |
Re: simeon rice
Let's sign him, but only for vet min.
My concern about the defensive line is young depth. I hope that Justin Hickman shows a lot and either makes the team or stays with us on the practice squad. Simeon Rice is someone we don't need. Renaldo Wynn is healthy and ready to roll. M. Washington and A. Carter are at defensive end in passing situations. Montgomery might be a star in the making. Golston is looking great. Philip Daniels is healthy. We have other good players on the line. |

I would love to see him in training camp and then when we play the Bucs he has 5 sacks. But for some reason I think the FO is too stubborn and has too much pride to sign him. "We said that out Dline is fine and we're going to stick by that statement" I hear GW saying that in a meeting this afternoon. |

Renaldo Wynn is ready to roll over. Give me some of those optimism pills. |

Can we put a 6 month ban on the term "vet minimum??? I mean every time some over the hill, broke down, almost was is released, everyone wants to sign him for "vet (or league) minimum" |
Re: simeon rice
what year is he going in to?
|
Re: simeon rice
Simeon Rice isn't signing for the veteran minimum. I doubt he will look for something crazy, but give the man some respect. He is... was.... and always will be a complete beast of a football player. Vet. minimum. Like it would be some kind of a generous offer or something.
