Adam Archuleta to Start
It looks like he started for them, does anyone know how he did?KFFL - Adam Archuleta, SS, Chicago Bears

Re: Adam Archuleta to Start
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if he plays well in their system. You never know, he might become the corner stone of their defense :)
I'm just be glad we off loaded his dead weight onto someone else :) |
Re: Adam Archuleta to Start
same system he had in St. Louis. He should thrive in it.

Re: Adam Archuleta to Start
Exactly, he'll do fine in a cover 2 type of defense. Greg Williams needs a bit more out of his safeties.

i wonder why people think this? did he ever make a pro bowl? i think the skins took a chance on him because of what he could have been, not what he was. |
Re: Adam Archuleta to Start
Arch lost a considerable amount of speed in a Redskin uniform(as in he went from fast to slow) leading me to speculate that he was on the juice in his St Louis career, but after he got paid he stopped risking getting caught. If he plays well this year then my theory is garbage, but if he looks slow and washed up then I say he was simply a chemicaly enhanced player that fooled people long enough to get a sick signing bonus. I'm talking HGH by the way or something that up until now was basically undetectable.

Agreed, could care less about that shit bird! I am however looking foward to him coming back into DC on 12.6 with his no good teammates and getting there ass kicked! |

I dont think so but he was a solid player at times in St. Louis. |
Re: Adam Archuleta to Start
If Saunders doesn't find ways for him to match up with Cooley, Al should return his check for that week. I look forward to watching 47 abuse Archy.

You didn't miss anything. It's the Bears and Colts on Mon. so you will get a chance to see your favorite playa!

Re: Adam Archuleta to Start
Why so much animosity towards one player? I understand that he didn't exactly pan out for us, but that is no reason to hate him. I hope that he does well in Chicago at least then we know that he was a good player and that he just didn't fit into our scheme. Our coaches will look even worse if he doesn't pan out over there. Try and look at the bright side, if it wasn't for Archeleta playing poorly in our system we would have never drafted Landry nor would we have drafted Palmer. Landry is looking good and it is possible that Palmer develops into a solid backup for us in the future.
We over paid Adam and he didn't work out for us. It is similar to the Smoot situation. We are happy he is back for the most part and all because he didn't pan out in Minnesota. He has value to us. Bye the way did anyone else notice that he (Smoot) was lined up on the outside in Nickle coverage; pushing Shawn Springs to the Nickle Corner position on 3rd and long situations. He didn't get thrown on. |

That is what made that signing so huge. With Taylor lurking in centerfield every receiver and QB is going to have to think twice before going deep and over the middle. While Smoot and Rogers are far from cover corners I would label both of them as above average. Being able to move Springs around is huge because he can get to the qb and blow up runningbacks. Even if Smoot and Rogers are on the wideouts you have an above average corner protected by a head-hunter and you are challenging the QB to make the perfect pass. If he doesn't, then you see (A) a highlight reel hit and a wideout curled up in the fetal position (b) an INT if Smoot gets his hands on it and (C) a dropped INT if Rogers touches the ball. It really makes it tough because no one is going to exploit Springs and they probably won't throw at him much. I would take Smoot or Rogers one on one with any slot receiver and I would take Smoot and Rogers backed up by the Grim Reaper on any outside receiver. |

No, he wasn't. He was an excellent player for St. Louis. Problem is, it's hard to find a compliment for ST's me first play. Arch didn't fit well here...no hard feelings, I wish him success in Chicago. |
