Favorite Sonny, Sam, and Frank moment?

There's a great piece in today’s Wash. Post by Mike Wise that covers the relationship between Sonny Jurgensen and Sam Huff and it had a couple of funny anecdotes of the two over the years they've spent together. In light of Mattyk72’s thread re: the Mike & Mike show on ESPN and the annual trashing of the Redskins on radio and TV everywhere, this story was a pleasant reminder of those guys we’ve all listened to over the years broadcasting ‘Skins games. What’s your favorite memory of a Sonny, Sam, and Frank broadcast?

I remember a game during Gibbs 1.0 against the Bengals where Boomer Esiason was absolutely killing us in the first half, and Sam just blurted "We gotta take a cheap shot and knock Boomer out!!!". Sonny defended his QB brethren, but Sam was insistent. You know the old MLB Huff would have been the man to do the deed in his playing days. One final note, Schroeder led us back to win that game with a great 4th quarter rally - I believe it was the year that Theismann broke his leg and Schroeder took over.

Great Article. I hope Sam can hold it together enough to keep going a while longer. Sometimes I think he took Jim Brown on one too many times.

My favorite moment happened sometime in the Norv Turner era. Some guest brought his daughter in the booth and Sonny says right on the air, "Want some candy little girl?" in his best pervert voice. My buddy looked at me and said, "Did he just say what I thought he said?" I said "Yeah". We were laughing our asses off. It was obviously for comic affect but, man. Anybody else that tried that would be in trouble.

I like that, the "annual trashing of the Redskins by radio, tv"..............sort of lends some majesty to the pain. Like a charitable event

My favorite moment was during the 05/06 season when the skins were playing the eagles late in the season. CP got the ball and spun off a defender who would have tackled him in the backfield and then ran it for a TD. During the run Sunny let out this loud, high pitched "YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAA!!!" that was just hilarious.
Since NFL films uses the local broadcast for their clips every time they play the 05/06 season highlights for the skins they have Sunny's loud shrill on there, its great.
