Wade vs Kearse
I was just reading in NFL.com that the last time Wade faced Kearse (was back 2003) Wade surrendered 2 sacks, a forced fumble, QB hurrie and 9 tackles. I hope he plays a lot better than that or we are in for a long night. I know that was 4 years and a few surgeries ago, so will see.

Re: Wade vs Kearse
Kearse was a different player then

Re: Wade vs Kearse
Yeah, I think Kearse a bit over-rated now. He has seen plenty of injuries and as slowed down significantly. I think Wade can handle him, and if not then put in Heyer, I know my man Heyer can do it ;)!

come on now, would you rather have Heyer in or Wade? A undrafted rookie or an established veteran? When Wade stepped in for Jansen, was he going against DE Will Smith? I'm not sure.. |
Re: Wade vs Kearse
not to wish injury on anyone, but it seems like every time i watch the eagles, Kearse is always hurt. i say Wade got it covered

Re: Wade vs Kearse
Different Kearse, different team.
I'd suggest that Kearse still has an edge on Wade in most passing situations if they're one-on-one. Kearse has never been a run defender, though, so I'd expect about ten calls of Counter Trey Right on Monday. |
Re: Wade vs Kearse
I just hope Wade can hanndel him or well lose Cooley to blocking all night

Re: Wade vs Kearse
This is a big challenge, no doubt--though I agree it's not the same Kearse as with Tenn. But this is one of the few games of the season the Kearse will be healthy, most likely, so it won't be easy. Making him defend the run is a good plan.

Re: Wade vs Kearse
Kearse wasn't injury prone then

Re: Wade vs Kearse
I have a very high opinion of my main man Todd Wade. Don't get me wrong, I wish we had Jansen because he's a superior run-blocker. But I don't think we lose a thing by going from Jansen to Wade when it comes to pass protection.
I say Kearse lays a goose egg. No sacks. |

I say Kearse lays a goose egg. No sacks.
I love Jansen, hope it returns healthy next year, and hope he retires as a Redskin. But let's not pretend the Jansen of 2006-07 is the Jansen of 2002-03. He is very good when healthy. He was among the best RTs in the league. So I think you may be right. |
Re: Wade vs Kearse
if we can establish the run and keep jason out of long passing downs that should help slow down kearse
