The Special Master (which sounds kind of S/M-ish to me) has apparent ruled that Mike Vick will have to repay $19.9 MILLION in bonus money.

That's a lot.

Remember too that, while roster bonuses are guaranteed, his indefinite suspension should leave him exempted from the roster, not on it.

Do you actually believe hes poor, you probably dont realize how much money he made in endorsements, Im sure Nike and whoever else paid him a fortune. Sure to me and you that $19.9 mil. is alot to Mike Vick its nothing, more than likely he will just declare bankruptcy or something like that to get out of all this trouble, the kid is loaded, never will work another day in his life whether he plays again or not.

Man this is crazy he lives about 10 minutes down the road from me. Wonder how much his house will fetch down here (Alpharetta, GA)

my understanding on why he has to give back some of the money is that he was engaged in conduct (dogfighting), which would breach the terms of his contract, at the time he signed it . . . if he signed the contract then began dogfighting afterwards he would have been in a better position

just like why goddell is/will hit him hard . . it wasnt the act of dogfighting alone but the fact that he lied about it to goddell afterwards saying he had no knowledge or involvement which clearly goes against the rules set by the NFL and the NFLPA

I think Nike paid him 20mil to get out of his contract. Not sure if he is poor or not but he is building around a 9,000 sq foot home here in suffolk for his girl friend which is right on the water making that house worth a few pennies. He also still owns a 5,000 to 6,000 sq foot home here were his mother lives.
