Improbable Upsets Thread

Well, since no one is giving us a prayer this weekend, I figured it would be cool to get some clips/highlights up from some other great sporting events where one team didnt have a hope in hell.....

I'll start with the most recent football one....

how about Villa Nova over Georgetown in 1985?

Re: Improbable Upsets Thread

Even more recent was Standford over USC. They were 40 point underdogs using a backup QB who had never taken a college snap!!!

Who was that team that beat UVA when Ralph Sampson was there? Chaminade or something? Easily one of the biggest upsets ever.

NC State over Houston in the NCAA basketball National Championship.

1966 NCAA men's basketball championship: Texas Western versus Kentucky.

1989 NFL regular season: Dallas Cowboys (1-15) over the Washington Redskins (10-6)...{I just threw up on myself.}

1990 World Series: Reds sweep A's; actually quite a few of the World Series are won by the underdog come to think of it.

Colorado Rockies over the Boston Red Sox in the Wor....wait, that hasn't happened yet.

Hockey: USA over Russia in the 1980 Olympics

Super Bowl III - Namath doesn't have to eat crow

1990 World Series: Reds sweep A's (damn, a tad slow ^ ^ ^)

Buster Douglas beats Mike Tyson

Rocky going the distance against Apollo Creed and then winning the rematch against a much more focused, motivated Apollo.

Also, Scott Bakula leading the over matched Texas State Armadillos over the #1 ranked Texas Colts to end the season!

The biggest upset to date is Appalachia St. over Michigan. Until the Redskins meet the ex-PATRIOTS.

Alright, when was the last time the Redskins had a major upset?

The last game I can think of was the 2000 season in St. Louis on Monday night, winning 33-20. Any others?

How about our crappy defense last year shutting down the Saints in NO. That was fun, albeit unexpected.

Or NE in 2007.

Damn, that hasn't happened yet.
