Should Warpath Do Something For Taylor and Skins Family?

Redskins Nation is really mourning right now - big time.

But I just wanted to throw this out there. Is there something that Warpath (we) can do or should do either for Taylor's family or for the Redskins organization to express our condolences?

I know everyone is emotional right now, and out of deference to the Mods, I wanted them to weigh in on this.

Maybe we could do a Youtube video or literally sign a card and send it around the country to some members and return it to Redskins park or Taylor's family. I know that's not practical, but just some ideas I'm trying to throw out there.

I would like for the warpath to go silent for the rest of the week.

Just one page with a thank you for the memories, no forums, no more speculating on if its a hit or not. Just something simple.

Thats just my opinion.

I wish we could all get together. I know that sounds a little childish, but i do. i'm nowhere near DC but it would be nice to have everyone in a bar somewhere just to hang out, talk, reminisce... whatever.

I don't know about sending things around, but is there a Sean Taylor foundation or anything? I think we could probably donate some funds in his name to his favorite charity, whatever that was...

Yes I would like that, or either we all can tell whoever will send a card to ST's family our names, so that way the person who is responsible to send card will sign our names on the card and send it to family?

Most probably won't like that idea much, and it is actually good to have the page for information (though I'm not sure how much we'll get in the next few days) but that isn't a terrible idea. I kind of like it actually, for what that's worth.

Geez..it never occurred to me that this post 5,000. Couldn't have been on a better thread, I guess. I don't know.

I think the idea of contributing to the foundation isn't a bad idea. Also, I live in the area as do many other Warpathers and we have some who live in the Miami area.

Maybe a Warpather could send a card to the Ashburn family and another to the Miami family?

Thanks, Matty.

And thanks to all the Mods for letting me start multiple threads on this sad day.

Realistically, each of us could either sign our name or write a personal message, scan it and then have someone responsible for receiving the files and creating the card.

I'm in SC, but i'm seriously considering coming to the game this weekend. I would definately like to be invovled in what ever you guys decide. I'm mouring right now. I just can;t belive it. I was listening to Redskins radio and they were had a piece where coach Gibbs and Fred Smoot are talking about sean. It broke me down. I'm trying to fight back tears.

Thank you Matty and if you need help with anything all you need to do is ask.

Maybe some of us should just tail gate this Sunday? I know Drillz lives in the area and he's at the stadium a bit.

What do you guys think?

I think a donation to whatever fund they set up would be nice. We have enough people here that we could put together something decent.

Re: Should Warpath Do Something For Taylor and Skins Family?

During the holidays (and other times throughout the year) I spend time with underpriviliged children. Most are unpriviliged because they have one parent or none. Basic stuff really. I help them with arts and crafts, play sports with them. Whatever is asked. It takes only a few hours out of my weekend. When I go this year, I will undoubtedly think of Taylor's daughter who is without her father now. She may be too young to realize it at this moment, but her loss is unimaginable.

Anyway, my point is maybe we should do something for Taylor's daughter. But maybe not just his daughter but for all those kids that have no mother, no father. Whether it's all of us giving to a fund that will probably be created for Jackie Taylor, giving to other funds, or just spending time in our local neighborhoods with these kids.

I just think at this time we shouldn't think that we lost a Free Safety. We should remember a little girl just lost her father.
