Will Landry Be Moved 2 Free Safety??
 

It seems to me that he would be the best fit to "try 2 fill ST shoes" (No will be able too) But I believe he can develop the range ST had. Damn it hurts to think about him not being here?

I just posted this in the Reed Doughty thread, but Landry definitely seems like the best fit to replace Taylor.

Doughty and Prielou will step in and most likely split the reps due to the inexperience of both.Def a Huge Hole to fill this offseason-

There's just no way he can play like S.T. In a few years he might start getting closer but I don't think he has the same raw talent that Sean had.

It's been 2 games+ that we've been w/out ST due to his knee injury & Doughty has played free safety when anybody has. Given that LL is a rookie I think they will keep his assignments the same.

Landry blitzed quite a few times against Dallas & on at least one occasion we got burned.
More often than not it looked like v. TB we played the cover2. I expect to see a lot of that from here out, in which case there are essentially 2 free safeties.

He won't move this year.

In the future who knows.

I think Landry is better suited at strong safety anyway.

i think we should move landry there. prioleau and doughty are both natural strong safeties as well...

We will probably draft the guy Kenny Phillips of Miami. Hopefully we can get him in the draft. I know he will not be able fill ST's shoes but at least he can at least try for the most part. His scouting report says that he is a mixture of Reed and Taylor. Damn it I miss Sean"Big Hurt"taylor.

I would like to see him at free safety eventually playing centerfield like ST did he has great speed & a ball hawk also.

That's possible, but I wouldn't necessarily expect it. Remember all the back & forth on this board about Okoye et al v. Landry in the draft? The Skins took Landry because he was the higher rated player, but they had (& have) needs in other areas. I would expect the same next draft; they'll take the best player they feel will have the most impact.

Is Phillips looking like a top 10 pick? If so he won't be around for us unless we seriously fall apart these last 5 games.

Phillips will probably be a mid to late first round pick, so he should be there when we pick. Still, it would be kind of erie to pick another safety from Miami.

I can't even bring myself to think about bringing someone in to replace him. I'm hoping (and I know it's a long shot) that Reed Doughty just totally takes hold of that safety spot over these next five games.

I agree, Landry moves more like Roy Williams than Taylor. He is devastating around the line of scrimmage and I love how he attacks plays.

That said, I think he's so athletic that he can excel at either safety spot. And I think I remember him playing some deep middle versus the Bucs. Anyone else see that?

I really hope so. I think he should move to free safety, He has the speed and athlectic ability. If not I hope we get Kenny Philips out of the U.

Landry is athletic enough to play either safety position, but Williams may eventually move him to FS out of necessity. That would be a shame, because I really love how Landry gets after the QB when Williams allows him to blitz.

I think we will draft a free safety this year, and Kenny Phillips is a great pick, but at this point its almost a comfort pick. Its almost as if we want Taylor back so badly we want to draft the 'next best' thing. Not that Kipers big board is relevant months prior to the draft, by Kenny Phillips is not a projected first round pick.
