Giants Vs. Philly

Plain and simple, who do we want to win this game?

Re: Giants Vs. Philly

I think we've gotta be rooting for the Giants.

The Giants pretty much have the top wild card spot locked up.

Philly is still in the hunt with the Skins for that last spot so a loss would really hurt them and benefit the Redskins much more than a Giants loss.

Re: Giants Vs. Philly

I was kinda leaning that way too, but then I want the Giants to have a poor showing which would carry over to our game.

I hope the giants get a field goal and the birds a safety.

We need the Giants to win to remove Philly from the playoff picture.

Re: Giants Vs. Philly

We definitely need the Giants to beat the Eagles. Giants are going to be the 5th seed barring some crazy event, and if Philly loses than they're practically eliminated from the playoffs.

Giants. I can't root for the Eagles unless they're playing the Cowboys (or Patriots now).

Well we have to win out to get the wild card. So who would win the tie beaker if the Eagles won out. If its the Skins then I'm for the Giants if its the Eagles then I'm for the Giants. My thinking if the Giants hit the wall it could open up to wild card spots.

The g-men can still flail as they usually do. I don't expect them to lose all 4, but I could see them losing 3 of 4. They play:
Philly, Us, Bills & Pats

The Pats game could be their easiest. If the Pats aren't 15-0 it likelly will be.

Here are the tiebreakers

Head-to-head (team with the best record in all games played between the teams tied) We split
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division. (This is for determining Division Champion; also, if there is a tie for a wild-card berth, this is used for breaking ties within a division.) Right now Philly and Skins are both 1-3 in division, both with two games left to play.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games (only applicable with a minimum of 4 common opponents). Now it gets kind of complicated. Both beat Miami (1-0, 1-0); both lost first time to NYG (1-1, 1-1); both beat Det (2-1, 2-1); both lost to GB (2-2, 2-2); both lost to NE (2-3, 2-3); both beat the Jets (3-3, 3-3); both lost first time to Dallas(3-4, 3-4); Skins beat Chi, Philly lost (4-4, 3-5); Philly beat Minnesota and has Buffalo the final week.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. Philly 3-6; Skins 4-5
Strength of victory (winning percentage of opponents that were beaten). Don't want to figure that out, probably pretty close since they only had two non-common opponents and have pretty much beaten the same teams.
Strength of schedule (winning percentage of all opponents played). See above, non-common opponents were: Skins - Tampa 8-4; AZ 6-6; Philly - Seattle 8-4; New Orleans 5-7
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. (That is, the "strength of victory" for all opponents from the same conference.)
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed (That is, the "strength of victory" for all opponents.)
Best net points in common games
Best net points in all games
Best net touchdowns in all games
Coin flip.
So that is basically just a really long way of saying it's better for Philly to lose, GO SEAHAWKS! and Go Cowboys unfortunately.

I wonder how far down that list the NFL has ever had to go.

If the Eagles, Vikings, Cardinals, and Lions lose.... Would that mean the Redskins move up to the last wild card spot since everyone will be 6-7?

I remember a few years ago it was up to net points on wether the Packers would get in or the Panthers. At the game they kep showing every point the Packers scored and they ended up going. Wouldn't it suck to miss out on the playoffs because of not running up the score?
