So I bought this new TV and......

I just ordered a TV from tigerdirect.com. Now, the TV is for my bedroom. It's a Toshiba HD LCD-TV, 32 inch, 720p. I realize that it's not the latest, greatest tv (I really want a 1080p for the living room,) but I figured it would be nice enough for me veggin' out in bed. I've heard some really good reviews on Toshiba LCD TVs, but what do you guys think? Do you think I did ok with this purchase? It was under $700 for this TV, and I figured a 32 inch HD TV under $700 is a pretty good deal, especially for something I'm going to use for the bedroom. What say you?

For black Friday I just got a Dynex 32in LCD HDTV for $429 at Best Buy. Not a name brand. But what's a name brand anyway? :P Picture is fantastic.

They also they had a 37in Sony LCD HDTV at Target for $499

Shoulda done your shopping on Black Friday man! But yours sounds like a good TV too. :) Have fun with it!

Anybody have any feedback with a Vizio? I am considering buying one

For what it's worth I have two Sharp Aquos LCD HDTV's. One's a 30 inch for the bedroom and the other is a 52" for the living room. I couldn't be happier with both of them...

I've had 4 different Vizio models, and they were all good. The speakers suck, but the picture is as good as 85% of the other brands out there.

I went 37" LCD -> 42" Plasma -> 42" LCD -> 47" LCD 1080p. I kept exchanging them because I couldn't find the one I liked best in the room, not because they didn't work.

Toshiba is just a step below Sharp, Sony and Samsung as far as "cream of the crop" of LCDs. I plan on getting two of them for my house as well. Regza series?

I don't think you did too bad. Has gotten decent user reviews. And since it was not a refurb at TigerDirect, I think you got a good deal on a name brand LCD.

As far as Vizio goes, my parents have a 20 inch Vizio in their bedroom, and they love it. It's worked out quite well for them...

We have a 19inch Polaroid LCD in our kitchen (present from a guy who stayed with us for 6 weeks, since we didn't let him pay rent or utilities), and for what it's worth, it's a decent little TV. Sound isn't that great, but for what we use it for, it's fine.

I figure in the future, we'll replace our bedroom TV and our family room TV (both are Sony flat tube CRTs, one 32 and one 24) with 1080p HDTVs. I was thinking 32 inch Vizio in the bedroom, and a 50 inch (Your name brand here) in the basement.

I just got a 32", LCD, 720p Vizio for my bedroom and I love it. It's my first HD, so maybe my standards aren't very high, but I haven't run across any problems with it.

I've seen 1080i in 37" in eBay for this type of Toshiba. :(

I dont understand why no one buys a Olevia. I've had mine for about a year now an it works PERFECT. It's a 37 inch 1080i hdtv/computer monitor and I got it for $669.

Also a great brand. If you're wanting a TV for your main viewing machine, it's best to go Sharp, Sony or Samsung. For secondary TVs, you can't beat Toshiba, and then Vizio and Olevia.

BDBohnzie 12-10-2007 11:29 AM

Re: So I bought this new TV and......

Vizio and Olevia are the 2 off name brands that have really come forth to fight the brand name superpowers. If you are willing to try something cheaper, these are the 2 brands most will recommend.

But most audio and videophiles will stick with name brands...

that's a nice deal

I wouldn't mind picking that up just for gaming. My wife would kill me though. We have more TV's than rooms right now. LOL

I think I just need to stop upgrading my TVs

Since I moved into my house 2 years ago I've bought 3 of them and I still want to replace my bedroom TV
