DE Buzbee Gets Promotion, CB Eubanks on IR?
 

JLC has [URL="http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/"]reported[/URL] that Georgetown DE Alex Buzbee has been promoted from the practice squad to the 53 man roster. JLC is also speculating that Eubanks has been placed on IR to make way for Buzbee.

PUP/IR Lists: Jon Jansen, Randy Thomas, Brandon Lloyd, Rocky McIntosh, Carlos Rogers, Sean Taylor, John Eubanks, Ross Tucker, Mike Espy, Tyler Ecker, Nemo Broughton, and Steven Harris. Jason Campbell may be added to the list as well.

He's had a nice little 3 year run of collecting paychecks without having to suit up.

If Eubanks goes on the IR, wouldn't it have made more sense to bring up Westbrook? (Not to be a homer or take anything away from Buzbee...Salisbury represent)

Wonder if the strategy w/Buzbee is to have him replace Blades on teams, which I kinda doubt. Since he's a pass rushing DE & kind of a tweener, maybe he could actually get some snaps in that role to spell Godfrey/Blades. Intersting to note that they didn't promote or sign a LB to take Rocky's spot.

It would be great if he's come along enough that they have confidence to put him in.

my bad, see now that Eubanks is off, Buzbee on.

I know someone posted a thread about Rocky's roster spot. Anyone know what's up w/that?

I hope they use Buzbee as an end or in pass rushing situations, I really like this kid. Here's an old article from the WP about him.

Eubanks has been released apparently, though he'll probably clear waivers and get back on the practice squad.

I expect that with Rocky out Gregg will move Marcus back into pass coverage in the 2 LB system. Then they could use Buzbee instead of Marcus, with his hand down, to rush the passer. Unless someone gets hurt I'd still expect him to be inactive on gameday.

Heard about an hour back from Vinny that they moved Buzbee up because K.C. wanted to sign him. They obviously like him.
