Nice job Dan. Sign him up and start working ASAP!

Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
this article is recommended reading, it supports what GW has often alluded to about the D, they need to get younger & faster & do so through the draft. Aside fromt the AA debacle, makes me feel good about GW scouting players.
Also gives a different take on the GW -AS relationship. I hope both are here in 08 & beyond. |
Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
Come on Snyder, do the right thing and keep this staff together, its pertinent for the success of the next two seasons. If he were to go outside with a coach that doesn’t work then we are looking at one of those loooooooooooooong stretches before we get back to the playoffs.

Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
i dont know man. i just aint feeling GW as the head coach. i see alot of 8-8 seasons ahead of us if he is. we will be competitive but i dont think we will have the competitive edge. my doubts are obviously on the offense and how/who will be handling it.
go skins! |
Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
One interesting point from the article:
"One team source said Cerrato and Williams aren’t particularly close" Is this a sticking point to hiring G.W.? the article said Williams and Floyd Reese are still close - why not let go of/demote Cerrato and replace him with Floyd? |
Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
I like the fact that Greg Williams wants to build through the draft, get younger and faster. I'm all for that philosophy. Let's not stop with the defense but extend that philosophy to the offense. I still think the Redskins need a general manager to manage football operations, personnel issues and the salary cap.

Well said - only problem is Synder doesn't think it is broken at all. To me we can bring in any coach under the sun, the real issue here is player procurement and the FO structure - when Synder finally decides to change this I think the team will have a realistic shot at sustained success. |
Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
I'd like to see GW get the gig, but most importantly, if he get's it, I want him to do things his way.
If he wants to be HC it's his call about the D and the O. It's his call about FA and the draft. He's going to get the credit and the praise so he better do things his way. His way has worked for the D why not for the team. |

I agree with all of what you've said here. Gregg's reported ideas for this team are right on, and Im excited for him to take over. I hope Danny listens to him about some of the personnel decisions, especially about bringing in a GM;and I wouldn't mind seeing Vinny go. To be perfectly honest I have very little to base my dislike of Vinny, but what I want to know is what exactly does he bring this team? What has he contributed? From what I can tell he is just Danny's yes man. Does anyone have any idea what he does, and/or see any reason for him to be here? All and all I like what this article says about Williams. I hope Saunders stays though. |

Agreed. We are an average/slightly above average team at the present. We could toil in mediocrity (9-7, 8-8, 7-9, 6-10, 10-6) unless we make some changes. GW is smart enough to realize this. |
Re: G. Williams Second Interview Today.
I just read that Snyder interviewed Jim Caldwell and Ron Meeks from Indianopolis.

I don't think he's interviewed them yet. He has been granted permission to interview them, but that probably won't happen until tomorrow or the day after. |

I hope he considers these guys and does not just use them to satisfy the Rooney Rule. |
