Ironically, our man Vinny might be part of the reason that GW is getting overlooked for the HC position. This is Madness!!!

Re: Vinny Cerrato promoted to Executive Vice President
This is just what I think, but with this new "promotion" for Vinny, it means goodbye to GW.
I think GW wanted some kind front office title and now Danny went ahead killed any notion of that happening. I'm really dumbfounded right now. |

Re: Vinny Cerrato promoted to Executive Vice President
I just don't understand why Vinny is held in such high regard by Snyder. He reminds me of the relative that just won't leave after a Christmas holiday. Anyone remember when the Milsteins got approved by Cooke's estate to buy the team but the NFL had to approve it first? During that time, Vinny was hiding out at some hotel near Dulles looking over film cause Casserly and John Cooke would not let him in the building. Here we are 11 years later and Vinny is still here.

Seriously though, we'll get to see whether he WAS or WASN'T the scapegoat we all made him out to be.

Re: Vinny Cerrato promoted to Executive Vice President
Well, at least we won't need to have any more threads here on the Warpath speculating on just what it is that Vinnie does...
Based on that description, he does everything except coach the team and wash out the jockstraps. Oh, maybe he also hires someone to cut the grass at Fed Ex too; I don't think he'd have enough time in the day to run the John Deere himself. At least this time around, he won't have some pesky head coach/President of football operations to work around when he gets Danny Boy's ear and helps Danny Boy decide what move to make with regard to the team. The new coach will know who's in charge as soon as he signs on the dotted line... :Flush: |

Nevermind...I take back what I said...there is no upside...the sun will go down tonight and never come up again...I'm convinced that Daniel Snyder is now the secret spawn of Peter Angelos and Satan... At least Dan's older than me, hopefully that means I might get to see the Redskins in the Superbowl again in my lifetime before I die...now excuse me while I go join a gym so I can start working toward trying to out live him.... :Flush: |
Re: Vinny Cerrato promoted to Executive Vice President
Joe Gibbs, who recently retired after four years as Head Coach and Team President added, "Vinny worked closely with me on all personnel matters. This is a well-deserved acknowledgement of that."
"Today's Washington Redskins roster is a testament to Vinny and the personnel department being an integral part of our team structure in identifying players, whether acquired in free agency, the draft or on sometimes very short notice as we made our way through the season," Gibbs said. Well it looks like Gibbs is backing this move and may have had a role in it as they have his comments here. |
