L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
Okay so the past couple of days the chargers have been getting alot of flack from different announcers. Being that i live close thats who i went for after our loss. I really didn't pay it no mind since they're not really my team but one announcer named Deion Sanders got my attention. Deion commented on Tomlinson not being able to play questioning his toughness. Deion giving a lecture on tough is like hearing a lecture on soberiety from britney spears. Deion talking about tough..is this the same Primetime who got ran over by a quarterback..the same Primetime who with the redskins didnt play with turf toe for about 3-4 weeks..the same Primetime who plays corner because he was afraid to be hit as a reciever, or is always a second late on a tackle or could only push recievers out of bounds. To call the leading rusher two years straight soft is blashemy coming out of his mouth. Who do you think is tougher Deion or l.t.

This is not a good thread, because there is an obvious answer here.

yeah, that pretty much covers it. Look at it this way, most of us have mouths to support the other functions of our bodies. Deion has a body to support the function of his mouth. |

tougher to listen to?? Deion wins hands down

Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
Well I would say I think you are taking Deon's comments a bit too far. I really don't like him, but his questioning of LT is legitimate IMO. The Chargers were possibly playing the hardest and most important game in several years, and LT seemed fine when he was in.
If LT was severely injured then it's ok, but in my mind it is ok to question that move seeing the magnitude of the game. See T.O. playing in the Superbowl. |
Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
Deion was out of line. Without knowing the exact reason as to why LT was out of the game he really needed to keep his trap shut.

Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
The San Diego Union Tribune put it well:
"Sanders says Tomlinson's injury would have to require surgery “for him to get a pass on this one.” Those are pretty bold words for a former cornerback who avoided contact as if it were a contagious disease or personal subtlety. “He's never been a running back and had a sprained MCL,” Tomlinson said yesterday. “You tell me what running back has played with a sprained MCL and been effective. You might go out there and try to limp around and play, but it's not going to happen. I don't know how information gets passed on, but until you talk to the source of the problem, what's going on with me, I think it's ridiculous when people make comments like that.” That Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was willing and able to compete in New England with a matching pair of bad knees was impressive, but irrelevant. A quarterback with knee problems operates at a disadvantage, but he relies more on his arm and his judgment than his mobility. A running back's sprained knee is roughly equivalent to a quarterback's separated shoulder. Each job has a different joint fundamental to football success. Emmitt Smith was able to win the 1994 NFL rushing title with a bum shoulder, but the brilliant career of Gale Sayers came to an abrupt end because of a 1970 knee injury." Sanders is a jack-ass. |
Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
Take away LT's cutting ability and he's pretty worthless.
If he could go he would have been out there. |
Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
Yeah, plus they have probably the best back-up RB in football waiting to go. LT is an absolute gamer and his proven that consistently over the course of his career so he deserves to be cut some slack here. He may have pussed out (I don't think so) but the point is we don't know, and neither does Deion. For him to go hurling accusations around and questioning future HOFers toughness is absurd.

LT wins here, any player would do anything to play a playoff game. Read my thread on Philip Rivers...

U gotta remember this isn't a pick-up game...you have 300 pound plus guys who can lift serious poundage..one hit at full strength and your not say bye bye career.. |
Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
I was watching Deion's response (not saying I agree with him) just wanted to put it on here in case anyone hasn't seen it....

I do think LT needed to take off his darth vader helmet and stand on the side line and at least appear to be interested in the game and his team winning. He looked like a disinterested loser sitting on the bench like that and thats how he opened himself up to critisism. |
Re: L.T. vs Primetime..who's really tough
Yeah LT is starting to seem more and more like a bit of a whiny little bitch. Gotta wonder when his hall pass expires for that.
