My New "It All Makes Sense" Theory
 

OK here goes... It just hit me...

I think Joe Gibbs retiring threw Dan Snyder for a real loop. He did NOT see it coming and thought he could talk him out of it. I also think that everyone has understood that Bill Cowher is Dan's number ONE choice. He thought it'd work out jus tright that Gibbs' contract would run out right when Cowher is ready to come back. Well, since he isn't coming back this year...

Obviously, Cowher will want to assemble his own complete staff, so...

Dan hires an OC who will be OK with leaving after one year (Zorn would go back to Seattle to be Mora's OC) and he knew that Gregg would only stay if given the head job (and he doesn't want Gregg to have the job because he wouldn't be OK with being HC for just one year), so he goes with Blache at DC, who he figures would be easy to send off after this year as well when Cowher will bring in his own.

OK, go ahead give me a hard time about adding another "theory" ... but I think that's why this OC & DC before hiring HC, because whoever ends up HC is just going to keep it warm for a year.... Thoughts?

If true the Skins fans need to riot and kill Snyder. Thats saying hey lets waste 2008 and a chance at a Lombardi for a Head Coach who has won 1 in like 15 years. Just because he has a chin doesnt mean he will win SBs hell Joe Gibbs won 3 and he couldnt win another in his comeback and he fought his guts out. If Snyder wants Cowher next year then he should of kept Saunders on offense and promoted Gregg Williams to HC. Then the Skins can build on last season and if we fall apart then its Cowher Power time instead of making Campbell learn Zorns system only to can him and learn what ever system Cowher will use with whatever OC he would bring in. If Snyder brings in new coaches to can them a year later Jason Campbell will be finished and it would make Snyder look like a complete and utter retard.

I understand the overall frustration with wasting a year until Cowher comes along, but the kill Snyder comment is out of line.

I think the OC before HC moves bodes well for GW getting the nod. He could have easily already given Snyder his input on this hire.

Whatever, who here would actually take that literally?

I personally agree with most of what Gremlin said there, yes perhaps killing DS is a bit severe, but certainly boycotting would not be far-fetched in that scenario.

And WaldSkins you are right on. It worked for him in college right? Lets at least keep cycling guys through until something works.

To be honest I cannot understand the complete and absolute facination with Bill Cower. All the hiring of Bill Cower would do is open up that pandora's box of high expectations in hopes of buying a SB victory, a theory simular to the return of Joe Gibbs.

I would like to see a young, creative and inovative coach with the potential for staying power to develop this team into a consistent winner. I'm a firm believer in the the old saying "you have to crawl before you walk". It should be the ultimate goal of every team to get too, and win the SB, but there's a process needed to be utilized in order to accomplish that goal, being short on patience and basic structure will not get it done. No ore short cuts and quick fixes as substitutes for long term stability.

Agreed, and from my perspective that seems to be the direction we are going. Which is refreshing. Who knows what is really going on in that egomaniacs head though?

This wonderful theory could be true but Zorn was hired for 3 yrs which means we will be paying him after next year unless he decides to skip back to Seatle.(resign).
