Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
From PFT:
We've been advised that ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. We wish him a quick and full recovery. A source who was in the room tells us that Len was showing all of the symptoms of heart trouble during the Hall of Fame voting on Saturday -- shortness of breath, pale, shivering. "He was absolutely suffering through the voting, and he stayed in that room," the source said. "I begged him to just fill out his ballots, leave, and get to a hospital. But he not only stayed, he wrote a story on the voting afterward. When he finally sought medical help, he was rushed into surgery." We've had our differences with Len, and a lot of it was in our early days, when we were looking to get noticed. But the guy is a grinder, and he truly has a passion for the NFL and the work that he does. His willingness to disregard how he was feeling in order to take of business is something we respect, and we hope he'll be back on the job very soon. We're not saying we're never going to disagree with him. But we definitely have a much different view of him. We've also been told that Peter King of Sports Illustrated was hospitalized on Sunday with bronchitis, and was unable to attend the game. |

Here's to a full recovery so he can write about the next Redskins Super Bowl win!

Wow, not a good time to be a sports writer! That makes 3 in the hospital over the past week or two, right?

Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
I hope he has a full recovery and soon. I'm no fan of his, not by a long shot. Still, I don't wish this on him.

In the words of Bill Simmons "fighting off 100000 volts of electricity..."

Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
I think Monk making the hall might've done him in!
But in all seriousness, we need guys like Len P. around to do what they do, hope he gets well. |

Obligatory show of support so it seems like I'm not an evil sonofabitch.
Get well soon Len. |
Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
Get well soon Lenny so I can get back to disliking you.

Get well soon Len.[/quote] Ditto. I didn't even know they did quintuple bypasses? |
Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
While I was pissed that Len fed us crow after Gibbs stepped down, I wish him a full recovery. I want him around to see Jason Campbell lead us to a Super Bowl.

A serious illness is a serious illness. Hope he gets better.

Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
Can't say I like his writing, but no man deserves this. Get well soon Len, so we can get back to disagreeing with you about your articles.

Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
No man should have to endure such things. Hurry up and get well so I can continue to have someone other than myself to call a fat bastard.

Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
as much as I dislike some of the things he says I don't think he deserves this and I really hope he has a quick recovery. I would never wish something like this on anyone.... You guys really have class especially as Redskins fans wishing him well after everything he writes about you. I know the hate most you have towards him is not personal but I thought there would still be some stupid people in here direspecting him, but i'm glad there's not...

Re: Lenny P underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery on Saturday
Even though I lost some respect for LP because his comments about Gibbs and Sean Taylor, I still wish LP a speedy recovery.
