Now That Monk Is In...

What former Redskin should we be clamoring for to get in the Hall of Fame now?

Bobby Beathard? Gary Clark? Russ Grimm? Chris Hanburger? Someone else?

I'll post a poll in a couple of days once the Spags and Fassel poll has gotten some "airtime" on our home page. But for now, just share your thoughts here

Personally I would get behind Grimm now. The Hogs were one of the most famous and successful offensive lines in NFL history, it's about time they started getting their due credit.

In addition to your list I think Jacoby was a HOF player.

I don't think Gary Clark is a HOF wr. He's on the cusp but he's just not quite there. But it's close. Same with Grimm. Hanburger is a no. Beathard is an interesting chioce but how many GM's make it? Isn't it more for players and coaches? So I would say a no for him too. Plus he drafted Ryan Leaf so that's going to do him in. Joe Jacoby might be an interesting name. He started on 3 winning SB teams. He went from LT to LG w/out missing a beat. But the two Redskins who deserved it most got in.

I don't think Jacoby will ever get in and, for that, I think we can blame LT - the highlight films of him dominating old Jake in one on one's will doom him. To be a HOF'er you have to beat the HOF'ers.

I think Grimm should get in for the Hogs and think that he has kept his presence up just enough to get him in. He would be my next choice followed by Hanburger (who has a snowball chance in hell of making it).

I think Beathard should make it to for all of his accomplishments - but Leaf may doom him.

Charles Mann?

Dexter Manley?

Joe Theismann?

Larry Brown?

Brig Owens?

Dave Butz?

Mark Moseley?

Grimm is the most realistic - he was the best of the hogs.

Moseley, that's a dude I haven't thought of in a while. He deserves some consideration, but will probably get the MOnk treatment as all his records have been broken too.

He's still the only kicker to win the MVP award.

The Hall needs to start recognizing some kickers and punters.

Theismann???

Yeah, his career was cut short, I know...just tossing names out.

Moseley SHOULD get in. A few of our defenders too, Mann, Manley, Butz maybe. Brig Owens had a GREAT career, 2nd in INTs for us all-time, 1st in INT yards, tons of fumble recoveries.

Bobby Beathard, Jacoby, Clark and Grimm are my choices. Beathard has been part of 7 SB with KC,Mia,Wash and SD, George Young the old GM for the Baltimore Colts and Giants was up for election this year, so why not BB?

Jacoby & Grimm are next. 3 Super Bowls, 4 consecutive Pro-Bowls 83-86, and they were definitely dominant in their era.

Maybe Moseley & Ray Guy could go in together in a class too.

What about Brian Mitchell?

(I'm a bit surprised that no one has said Sean Taylor yet)
