Three Players, One Jersey -Pro Bowl & No. 21

Nice sentiment from the Denver players at the end. |
Re: Three Players, One Jersey -Pro Bowl & No. 21
I think thats a good idea, however after the probowl game the number 21 should never be worn by a Redskin ever again.

Isn't this a topic already covered?

That hit on Moorman always makes me laugh. Man I miss #21.

Here are two other threads about this:

I was aware of the other threads and almost posted it there but thought the article justified a new thread. If mods want to move it - fine by me.

Here's a question, that hopefully hasn't been covered. If I order the Cooley Pro Bowl Jersey, what number would be on it? 47 or 21?

47. I think the #21 jerseys are for the game only. |

I think the #21 jerseys are for the game only.[/quote] That would be crap. If Danny REALLY wanted to milk me, he'd make all the of the 21 jerseys available with all 3 players names. Then I would obviously have to buy all three. |

Now if they come out with some retail authentics (the gamers are too damn expensive - only legit one I've seen the guy was asking $900 for the Taylor ... yeah right dude) then we're talking. MSRP on the retail authentics is $345, though, and I'm not even sure that Reebok will produce any of the Redskins anyway. Maybe Taylor, the authentics won't release until July though. |
Re: Three Players, One Jersey -Pro Bowl & No. 21
IMO Darrent Williams' death was brushed away too quickly. He was murdered too, yet the NFL wanted to distance themselves because they felt he put himself in a bad situation. However, he wasn't doing anything that the majority of guys his age don't do. Except, instead of drinking and driving he was in a rental w/ teammates. I think Sean's death was felt more possibly because he was already a star and it was during the season. But, they should have been able to pay tribute.
My question is, why does the NFL care what number people wear in the Pro Bowl? Theoretically, 20 ProBowlers could have the number 55, but that's okay because it's their normal number. For Pro Bowl purposes only, why not let players wear any number any year? Since Favre isn't playing because of injury, maybe Hasslebeck or Garcia would like to wear #4 as a tribute to him. I'm not saying they should, just that they should have the right to switch numbers for the Pro Bowl. |

Great gesture, I'm glad they'll be game captains too...I freaking miss that guy, he might have been the best Redskin I would have ever watched..RIP 21 On a side note, I think its pretty crappy that the NFL didnt let the Broncos do anything for D. Williams. I mean its the freaking pro bowl. |

So 3 LBs have #55 on the field at the same time. You know "that #55 plays for this team, the other #55 plays for that team...) If they start wearing different numbers, even with their team's helmets on, it would be a little tough to tell who people are when you're used to knowing them by a different #. I guess that's why the league is so tough on it. |
