What Happened??!!
Holy crap guys!!! Look what Snyder is doing to us! First, he gives GW 4 interveiws. When that doesnt work he says Jim Mora will prob get the job. When that falls through, he pretty much names Fassel the next coach. Following a HUGE backlash amongst redskins fans, the statement is retracted until after the super bowl (in fact, I believe initial reports said that the anouncement would be made the night of the Super Bowl). Speculation, Spags, and Mooch were all thrown in, and then the Giants won. There has been so much confusion followed by silence, followed by assurance, followed by reassurance, and finally followed by MORE silence, that most skins fans, even the ones who wanted to put VC, DS, and Fassel on the same burning stake, are like "I'm cool with anyone lets just get it over with"
Is all of this some grand illusion for the fans all to manipulate us into being okay with Fassel? Let the conspiracy theories begin!!!!! |

Re: What Happened??!!
I don't know why Snyder gave GW the run around like that only to let him go. I feel bad for GW because of that. Other wise I think Snyder is doing an.. okay job. Between 1-10. 1 being absolutely terrible and 10 being the best GM in the NFL. Hes like a 4.5. I think if anything he's just trying to be thorough and even though it may piss us off, I still firmly believe he has his best intentions when trying to put together the staff/team.
And I don't think at any point, there was anything about him naming Fassel the HC. I think people just speculated that Fassel would be named HC. And I can definitely say for certain nobody said Jim Mora would be HC. Dude had like what..? 2 maybe 3 interviews at most? But because of all the interviews and the fact that many Skins fans can't seem to properly rationalize things, they probably did think he was going to be HC. While this whole carousel of HC interviews has gotten old, I think in the end, the best choice will be made. I'd rather spend months meticulously picking a HC than do some knee-jerk reaction and within a week or 2, get some old geezer who runs the team into the ground. |
Re: What Happened??!!
hmmmm... good points.....
I guess overall I, among other Redskins fans am frustrated and want a HC now, and given the "great" decisions this franschise has made (please dont make me list any), I am a bit nervous about what will happen. Sometimes it is a good thing when alot of time goes by but with this owner, Its almost like a time-bomb about to explode. |
Re: What Happened??!!

Re: What Happened??!!
Wasn't there already another thread called "what happened?"
Either way, when did Snyder himself say Mora will probably get the job? When did he "pretty much" name Fassel the next coach? |

Re: What Happened??!!
I wish Daniel Snyder would just name Fassell the friggin' head coach so we can get this whole mystery over with. Every report I've heard, from John Clayton on ESPN to Bram Winestein (sp?) on Redskins Radio, says Fassell is going to be the choice. The Giants will throw a whole bunch of money at Spags to keep him as D-Coordinator. Snyder will try to counter, but he needs to remember we will have to sign draft picks, possibly re-structure contracts so we don't lose people, and go after some free agents. In my opinion, as long as Daniel Snyder is the owner, the Redskins will NEVER win a Super Bowl. He's too worried about making the almighty dollar than doing what's good for the Redskins, a team (I believe) he said he loved and watched growing up.

Re: What Happened??!!
Do you think giving money to Spagnuolo has anything to do with the salary cap?

I am not a Snyder guy, but of all the dumb things Snyder does putting making money above winning is not one of them. |

If he really was all about making money, he could make things a lot easier on himself by not having the highest player and coach payroll in the league each year. By the way coaches salaries have nothing to do with the cap. |
