UFA's from Seattle
Now that we know who will be our HC next season, lets look at some of his former players who he is probably comfortable with, knows, and may want to try to pick up to help the transition from the Gibbs era. Given the needs of our team (WR, O line, CB, #2TE, DT......), the list looks pretty tempting if I may say so. Only an idiot would think that we would get the whole list but I would not be surprised to see a few follow Zorn to D.C.
Here's a list of the Hawks who will be free agents if not signed by March 1. Unrestricted free agents LB Kevin Bentley PK Josh Brown DT Chuck Darby WR D.J. Hackett TE Bennie Joppru ILB Niko Koutouvides OT Sean Locklear TE Marcus Pollard CB Marcus Trufant OG Floyd Womack DT Ellis Wyms Restricted Free agents RB Alvin Pearman FB Leonard Weaver. |
Re: UFA's from Seattle
I wouldn't mind Brown to replace Shazam and Womack for OL depth.. I'll be ok with Hackett but am holding out for Ocho Cinco.

Re: UFA's from Seattle
Great post! Didn't even think about these possibilities. I'll take a Josh Brown here, a Marcus Trufant there, a Sean Locklear with my underwear. LOL

CJ = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
DJ = $$$ and experience in a WC offense |

Re: UFA's from Seattle
i think we need to look at who zorn will try to bring in for a xtra teacher and a quality back up who has experience in this system so we don't have a bunch of qb's trying to learn the system and no one knowing the system. the list looks to be out of ....

But I think he's pretty old. Trufant would be real nice but I doubt they're going to let him leave Seattle. We just need to draft and quit chasing FA's. |
Re: UFA's from Seattle
If we could get Marcus Trufant that would fill a big hole but cost lots of $$$. He's probably staying put with Seattle.

Re: UFA's from Seattle
I remember this same thread but about Todd Collins two years ago.
edit: http://www.redskinswarpath.com/locker-room/10847-kansas-city-free-agents.html?highlight=todd+collins And yes I used the search feature. Newbies take notice. |
Re: UFA's from Seattle
The onley ones worth discussing are Josh Brown (will be re-signed for a heafty price), Marcus Trufant (push comes to shove he will be franchised) and D.J. Hackett (most likely to be signed).

Re: UFA's from Seattle
Lets remember guys we've had in the past that were brought in because they played under the head coach on his previous team and knew the new system:
Norv: Alvin Harper, Scott Galbraith, Derrick Brownlow, James Washington, John Gesek Marty: Kevin Lockett, Donnell Bennett, Dave Szott Spurrier: Jacquez Green, Shane Matthews, Danny Wuerfful, Taylor Jacobs |
Re: UFA's from Seattle
i say stay away from FA ,and build in the draft.if we continue to restructure contract and give contract to free agent in two years we will be up the river without a paddle..Limas Sweed is huge and fast, there is a reciever at WVU named Raynaud that is fast ,strong, and tough and could be caught in the 3rd..
ill take Trufant
If/when we land Trufant we wouldn't HAVE to draft a corner so high for depth. We could then go for some O-line, WR, or LB help in the 2nd and 3rd rounds |

Reynaud is cool, but aside from that he has character issues and is 5'9" |
