El Presidente Resigns (Not Re-Signs)
I guess the old bastard just isn't as committed to La Revolucion as we all thought:

I guess that's why Fidel's victims only number in the thousands -what an amateur. |
Re: El Presidente Resigns (Not Re-Signs)
i think this is more about his health, then anything else
|
Re: El Presidente Resigns (Not Re-Signs)
It's most likely in preparation of his funeral. He'll probably he dead any day now and wanted to make sure his brother would take over to extend his reign for a bit longer and so that he can go out on his own terms.
SO, who wants government-run healthcare? Fidel has a good plan. |

President Clinton had extra medical attention too and even put in a jogging path that you paid for. I hope you were joking. |
Re: El Presidente Resigns (Not Re-Signs)
i wasn't. no one that runs any country, or has money, normally waits for anything. i wasn't picking on that moron that happens to be in the white house right now. none of presidents have to wait. i was referring to firstdown. he made it sound like a big deal that Castro doesn't have to wait for his medical attention

Re: El Presidente Resigns (Not Re-Signs)
I was laughing my ass off when I heard word "resign" yesterday cause I didn't really know a dictator could resign! Anywho, his resignation letter was even funnier:
For many years I occupied the honorable position of president. On Feb. 15, 1976, the Socialist Constitution was approved with the free, direct and secret vote of over 95 percent of eligible voters. The first National Assembly was established on Dec. 2 that same year, and it elected the State Council and its presidency. Before that, I had been a prime minister for almost 18 years. I always had the necessary prerogatives to carry forward the revolutionary work with the support of the overwhelming majority of the people.
|
