JLC: Redskins Schedule Visit With S Will Demps
JLC Blog: FA Safety, Demps is to visit Redskin park.
Redskins Insider Posted at 5:53 PM ET, 03/ 1/2008 The Redskins Schedule A Free Agent Visit Houston free agent safety Will Demps will be visiting the Redskins. league sources said. Demps, 28, is a former starting safety with the Ravens, Giants and Texans. He entered the NFL with Baltimore in 2005, and had a rougher time of things with the Giants in 2006 - Baltimore drafted LaRon Landry's older borther, Dawan, that year and Landry became an immediate starter with them - and Demps played 15 games for Houston last season. The Redskins are seeking safety depth, and though many scouts were impressed with how Reed Doughty came on late last season, I am not surprised Washington would look for a veteran to push Reed. |

skinsfan_nn, I moved your post to a new thread. I thought it deserved to be its onw thread instead of buried in the general FA thread

Re: JLC: Redskins Schedule Visit With S Will Demps
Wouldn't be a bad signing. Good move for depth, especially since Preilou prob won't be back. And he started 16 games for the Giants in '06 so he knows the division.

I'm not against it either. we need someone under 30 to back up Doughty

Re: JLC: Redskins Schedule Visit With S Will Demps
would be relatively cheap depth i would hope

Re: JLC: Redskins Schedule Visit With S Will Demps
Demps is not a real good safety. I remember him being burned several times when he played for NYG. Let's hope Reed can step in and play solid and build from last year's experience.

Re: JLC: Redskins Schedule Visit With S Will Demps
I'm not really sold on Demps either. I would imagine for depth purposes he could be a good signing, and would be relatively inexpensive. I didn't see him play last year, but I remember some of his performances in NY.

I think he'd be perfect to solidify the safety position for the team.

no one is sold on everyone

Re: JLC: Redskins Schedule Visit With S Will Demps
I was just thinking the redskins needed a fashion model on the team.

I dont like demps, mainly because I always thought he was horrible in New York, I didnt see him play last year.
Plus Im on the 'Draft Kenny Phillips' band wagon |

Plus Im on the 'Draft Kenny Phillips' band wagon[/quote] My Brandon Albert would crush your bandwagon. Mainly because my bandwagon weighs 315 pounds Mua ha ha ha. Phillips though would be a good choice, though it would look awkward to draft a DB in the first round in 4 out of 5 years and one of those years we didn't have a 1st round pick. |
