McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
On the Republican side, former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., conceded the race to Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., who swept the March 4 GOP primaries in Ohio, Texas, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
Way to go McCain, you go get it. Just watch that step, we don't want you to break a hip! Better luck next time Huck, I don't know how you managed to suppress your pride but you did.
p.s. For many obvious reasons I hope Romney isn't McCain's choice for VP. |
Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
Glad for McCain.
...Because I'm gonna need someone to vote for if Obama doesn't win the Democratic nomination. :) |
Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
Congratulations to Senator McCain. This is a great man. A man of will. Regardless of what happens in November, I'm glad that the American people will be able, in the course of this campaign, to learn about the tremendous sacrifice that he and his fellow POWs offered this country.

Big day for Hillary as well, she's still hanging in there.

LOL seriously. If you think its bad where you live Buster, come to a college town. Students are fing idiots, and they go around parading Paul and his "movement". Some students were at the library giving Paul stuff out, and I went up to them and tried to engage them in debate about his policies and specifically if they actually believed in his plans, or lack thereof, for foreign affairs and no one could even give me an intelligent response. The best I got was that it isn't about the policies it is about the movement. |

Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
After the hatchet job Bush's campaign did on McCain in 2000, do you think it stung to stand next to him and for the endorsement? Obviously he wants the endorsement, but it struck me as kind of funny.

I think at this point McCain somewhat needed the endorsement because Bush is still quite popular with the GOP base, which McCain still needs to solidify. I think McCain just wants the endorsement to be noticed by Republicans but not made a big deal beyond that, and I think that is what has happened so far. |

Hey, they were opponents...that's what happens in elections. Look at Clinton and Obama now and Hillary is actually beginning to suggest they team up and she's his VP if she loses! After the things she's doing and saying now? HA!! It would be entertaining though. If Obama was stupid enough to make her the VP, he'd be found in a park dead by "suicide" before his first term is over. |
Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
No - that was a smear campaign. Hilary has done (and all politicians do) some stupid things, but nothing on that level.

I try not to. But I don't think she'd make him VP or he'd make her VP. I feel like there's way too much of a rift in the Democratic party right now. Obama supporters aren't going to vote for Hillary. Hillary supporters aren't gonna vote Obama. I'm pretty tempted to skip the bullshit and just register as an Independent. Because as of right now, I wouldn't really mind voting for McCain (if worst came to worst). He's moderate enough for me. |
Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
Moderate enough to be in Iraq for the next 100 years.

Hey I'm a dem. So I don't agree with everything, but I'd rather slit my wrists and sit in a hot tub before I vote for Clinton. At least with McCain I'm not wasting a vote. |

No I agree, domestically McCain is pretty moderate. I just not a big fan of his national security ideas, but I was just throwing that statement out there not attacking ya Rave. |

I feel you. :) I think McCain has his best intentions for the US at hand, I just wish someone would talk him out of that 100 years in Iraq thing. Otherwise I think he's an okay dude. |
Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
i really do not understand all the hatred towards Hilliary Clinton. can you explain yours, rave?

Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
and how people are ready to vote for a man that has no idea about the economics of this country, when we are in a recession. this really amazes me
|
Re: McCain Clinches GOP Nomination
I don't know, what exactly is McCain's domestic policy seeing how he wants to continue the war in Iraq? I'm not saying you have to agree with all of his policies but if I am not mistaken the war is his platform and with that his domestic policy goes down the shitter. You can't do both, certainly not effectively.

I feel like she'd say and do anything for a vote. Universal health care? I'm not completely sold on. She seems very, very secretive and will try to place blame on others to distract people away from her mistakes. Just like all this NAFTA BS that is coming up now after she pulled that crap on Obama and Harper admitted that she was reassuring Canada as well? (That might be wrong I didn't read the whole entire article. Anyone with knowledge on it feel free to correct me). And whats with not releasing her tax returns? It looks like she doesn't even care about the minority vote anymore (More specifically Blacks) as long as she can kiss the ass of the rural Americans, white women and the Hispanics. Old people just seem to vote for her since Clinton is a household name. Now all this stuff with trying to do a re-vote in Michigan and Florida after the rules had already been set (which she decided to go ahead and break anyway). Sounds like the acts of a desperate woman. Desperate times call for desperate measures? Everyone does some mudslinging during campaigning, that's expected but this is a freaking 3 ring circus. I bet Republicans just laugh and shake their heads at how the democratic party are really living up to the donkey symbol. |

1. 24-28 years of the Bushes and Clintons. Who is next? Jeb Bush or Chelsea Clinton? 2. She's talks about experience as if he was co-president with Bill. I wonder if she was always present at those top level meetings. 3. She went negative. 4. She is a first class politician meaning the impression of her is that she will do and say anything (i.e. when she changes her accent based on where she's giving a speech). 5. She'll get the Republicans to vote in masses against her. Not her fault but still, I mean when 40+ percent of people surveyed have a negative opinion of you there is something wrong there whether founded or unfounded. |
