When releasing a bear from a trap...

...always make sure the trap is secured to the truck. These Fish and Game guys are releasing an ungrateful bear:

Re: When releasing a bear from a trap...

Those pics are about 20 years old. I used to hunt Montana a lot(when I was single, no kids and had money). Two of the outfitters I hunted with were friends with the ranger. Apparently during the melee, the ranger managed to pull his duty piece and empty it into the bear, thus ending the attack. The bystanders were armed but unable to shoot as the action was to close. It was the cover of Outdoor life or the like during that time. Cool!

The funny part is that the beer did not pull the cage off the truck the guy driving hit the gas throwing the guy and the cage off the truck. Look at the last couple of pages and you can see the cage comes out as the truck moves off that little bridge.
