Chad Johnson up to his old antics...
Johnson skips voluntary workouts in show of unhappiness
Typical of CJ...I'm glad we have stayed away from him. |
Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...
T.J. didn't go to the workouts either but no one is talking about him that is the same thing. I see what C.J. is saying now every one is quick to point the finger at him but his teammates and others do the same thing but he gets knocked for it.

Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...
Oh no, he's skipping voluntary workouts! Aaah, he'll never succeed here with dedicated workout guys like Portis, Moss, Springs...oh wait....
Skipping a workout is actually pretty atypical of CJ. |

Skipping a workout is actually pretty atypical of CJ.
But he's skipping solely because he wants to be traded. He's whining like a little baby. |

And Springs skipped OTAs b/c he was having issues with the team, so what's the big deal? |

Wasn't that a contractual issue. I don't fully recall. I have always hated when players whine to get thier way, doesn't matter who it is. You signed a contract, and a lucrative one at that...be a man and honor it. |
Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...
"Hi I'm Chad Johnson and I want to play for the Steelers, Ravens, Browns, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Texans, Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs, Broncos, Patriots, Jets, Dolphins, Bills, Saints, Falcons, Panthers, Buc's, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks, Cardinals, Bears, Vikings, Packers, Lions, Eagles, Giants, Redskins, Cowboys."
Please stay away from this man. |

Owners?Front office executives cut players at a moment's notice all the time. And it's not like the NBA or MLB where Allan Houston and Mo Vaughn are probably still getting paid by the Knicks and Mets. |
Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...
Everything CJ does from now on is going to be highly scrutinized. Everything that is worth a line will be printed.

You make it sound like we should pity him. It's not like he didn't put himself square in this situation with his overgrown mouth. |
Re: Chad Johnson up to his old antics...
I don't understand the hate from CJ. He has fun, he works hard, and he wants out of cincy. Players want out all the time. We'll see how serious he is, if he really want out he'll LaVar Arrington the Bengals and give them money back.
Bottom line, it's a voluntary workout and it's just the little bit of leverage players have. Wherever Chad Johnson goes he will light it up and be nothing but great for the team that signs him. |

I don't doubt he's sending a message (yet ANOTHER one) to the Bengals, but he's not dishonoring his contract by not being there. Bengals players have come out and said they're not worried about Chad because they know his work ethic. Dude hasn't missed a start in 4 years and has 5 straight seasons of 87+ catches, 1200+ yards and at least 7TDs. Unreal. He's durable and explosive, and wants to win. He just has diarrhea of the mouth. |

I didn't mean to imply that he wasn't honoring the contract by missing the workout. I meant to say, just shut up and play for the bengals. They already know he wants to be traded, and they came out and said no. Now he should shut up. Why should he 'just shut up and play'? Doesn't he have the right, regardless of his contract numbers, to state that he's unhappy with his employer? Unlike 'normal' people he doesn't have the ability to simply seek a job with one of his competitors by quitting and walking down the street to work for one of them. I am not a blanket defender of using the media to push your agenda, for example I ripped Laverneus Coles for his constant griping about his contracts but this is a different scenario. Johnson simply wants to play for another team. He didn't ask for more money or a longer deal, he wants out. Sorry but the whole 'just shut up and play' mentality bothers me. |
