Students' laxative-spiked cake sends Brooklyn teachers to hospital
Ok, this was a brank that went bad but now these children face some heavy charges and the reactions seem a bit harsh. It almost seemed like the teachers think that the kids wanted to hurt them instead of a simple bad prank. So read this link and do you think as I that they are going a bit overboard. Two teachers seem like they are looking to make allot of this and one seemed to think of it more as a brank gone bad.

Re: Students' laxative-spiked cake sends Brooklyn teachers to hospital
Yeah that's retarded. Can someone please legally justify why someone could get charged with up to 7 years in prison for pulling a classic prank?
PS Firstdown, it's called a prank, brother. |

PS Firstdown, it's called a prank, brother.
Ok I spelled it wrong twice out of three times. I think its because the "b" is so close to the "p" I hit the wrong one. That 7 year thing is because they have some sort of new law which makes it tougher if the act is against a teacher. I hope the teachers, police and school come to their senses and just write this off as a bad prank and not a crime. |
Wait, what? What kind of keyboard do you have?
Ha, that's exactly what I was just thinking. I know I accidentally hit Q when I really mean to type a M all the time.
Back on topic, this is why I'm suprised that MTV still has that dumb show. I remember seeing it when it first came on and all I could think was "well here's a good way for MTV to get a bunch of kids in trouble." Then again, I guess if you're dumb enough to pull a prank that you know will land you in hot water you're probably so dumb that you were going to end up there one way or the other. |

MAN, where has humor gone? Classic Prank!
My advice to them: they should all pile into a white Bronco and drive real slow through town............they will be fine............. |

I was joking. I agree with the person who said 48 hour comuniy service. It could be something like where they have to speak to lower classes about doing dumb pranks and the trouble they can cause. My question is why didn't the teachers who went to the hospital just ask the kids what they put in their cake? |

This whole thing makes me think of the "Turbo Lax" scene from Dumb and Dumber. LOL!

I haven't read the statutes at issue, but they are probably intended to target a whole host of bad conduct (e.g., spiking a girl's drink with the date-rape drug, putting poison in a spouse's food or drink, etc.). My guess is the statute doesn't say something like, "Any person who mixes narcotics, poisons or other harmful substances into another person's food or beverages without the other person's permission shall be guilty of a Class C Felony; provided, however, that any person who mixes laxatives in a teacher's food or drink as part of a prank shall be guilty of an ordinance violation." Few statutes can be written with such precision that they (a) contemplate every possible scenario and (b) always accurately differentiate relatively harmless from very harmful conduct. |
