[SIZE=2][/SIZE][SIZE=2][/SIZE][SIZE=2]I'm considering starting up a semi-high stakes fantasy football league, aside from the normal $ fantasy football league that we run around here. I just want to see if I'd have anybody remotely interested.

It would be Auction style on ESPN.com (free private league), drafting online, with 12 teams. Entry fee would be $250. Scoring and rosters would be pretty traditional:[/SIZE]

[SIZE=2]-2 for turnovers[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2]NO points per reception[/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][U]Defense/ST[/U][/SIZE]

1st (Playoff Tourney Winner) - $1800
2nd (Playoff Tourney Runner Up) - $700
3rd (Playoff Tourney) - $250
Team with Most Points during Regular Season - $250

Trades would be regulated through league voting process, needing 6 out of 12 league members to veto in order to strike a deal down. In the case of a veto, votes will be made public.

Id be interested if you played individuals on defense. IMO playing players on defense makes it more challenging and can make for better trade potential.

Interesting idea, but $250 for me is pretty pricey. Probably not an amount I could afford to lose.

Maybe in a year or two.

I always leave feeling like I had a good draft (except in the Warpath $ League last year, I knew I was screwed there), but then my guys usually get injured or don't produce, and it's a hard struggle back to .500. Such is fantasy football.

I usually do well when I can land one of the best players in fantasy (LT 2006, Culpepper 2004), but when I don't, I always seem to struggle.

That's why we're going auction. If you want a star guy like LT or AP, you can pony up and get him; you're not at the mercy of a crappy draft position. I think it levels the playing field a lot better.

I'm in. Still gotta get a team name... For the record I named my team in my yahoo league "Warpath." I'm leaning towards Jerk Store for this league...

Yeah I would be, but I really do think we can get a full 12. It's only the end of June, and we'll be drafting September 2nd. So there's time.

Feel free to recruit any buddies who you think would be interested. Same goes for anyone else out there.

An update. I believe we're closing in on 12 guys. If you've expressed interest, please PM me with an email address, if you haven't already. I would like to send out rules and a league constitution sometime in the next week. Thanks guys.
