The Redskins have signed defensive tackle Babatunde Oshinowo, the team announced on Tuesday.

To make room for Oshinowo, the Redskins released defensive tackle Zarnell Fitch, who signed with the club over the weekend.

"Oshinowo, 6- and 325 pounds, spent the final three games of 2007 on the Chicago Bears active roster. He played in a reserve role in one contest. He spent most of the season on the Bears practice squad. Oshinowo was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Stanford, where he posted 15 sacks in 44 games."

Boy, Zarnell didn't spend much time, eh? Didn't even get a chance to hit the practice field!!!

BTW, his full name is....
Babatunde Oluwasegun Temitope Oluwakorede Adisa "Baba" Oshinowo, Jr. [Ba-ba-TOON-day OH-shi-no-who]

If you look at the pronounciation I put with the name in the first post, you could clearly say it to yourself, and hear it's African.

Re: Redskins Sign Oshinowo

Very similar to Amobi Okoye from the Texans (as far as size). Teammates call him Ba-ba (not made up).

Is Redskins.com selling his jersey yet?

First, the ink has to dry on the contract. Then they make the jerseys.

How many tackles will he need in an Exhibition Game before someone here projects him into the Pro Bowl this year?

Three? Four?

I was just relaying training camp info. I don't believe he's going to make the team. Thanks.
