He had a stomach virus on Saturday. He was in for just a few plays then had to back to the locker room. |
springs the most important part ouf our defense? i dont know, he is an integral part, but id say the rush of marcus and lavar are the most critical, otherwise we are screwed. springs has never missed moer than 8 games in a season, so he doesnt get reeal bad injuries, just nicks. this injury history is being exagerated.

Springs just had a little flu. He is fine.

i hope you guys are right about his injury history. but i definitely think he's the most important (NOT best) part of this year's defense. mostly because we're pretty thin there, and if he goes down we're in fairly serious trouble. Blitzes are disastrous if the receiver isn't properly covered/chucked at the line. not only do they make an easy short catch, but the defenders in the middle are in the backfield and out of the play. plus our Dline is STILL unproven, and you saw what an ineffective Dline did to Champ Bailey last year. our LBs can't be doing their jobs too. we need Springs to be HEALTHY when they have a maxprotect formation and a burner like T.O. out on the flank. Smoot you say? he's also unproven against #1 receivers. NFC East: Toomer, Hilliard, Owens, or that dangerous Dallas trio on the field all at the same time... yes, Springs is vital. |
You can make this argument about all of the positions at defense. Corner is one of the spots that we do lack some depth at if a starter goes down. It didtn look like we would nto have depth intially, but with Harris injured, and the other not performing well we do need Springs healthy.
He looked ok from what I saw, he got burnt on a hook route, but chambers exexuted it well, and its hard to defend a hook if the qb has his timing right. |
we have better-than-good depth at LB with Pierce and Mitchell. our Dlinmen are pretty interchangeable at this point. and if we have to rely on our Safeties, then the Defense as a whole isn't doing well and we're in trouble.
i'll be praying for Springs all year. i thank the gods already for Sean Taylor. |
Ron Warner has really impressed me, hes been the best pass rusher imo on the d line.
|
yea warner has looked good. People said salvena(sp) looked godo in camp but I didnt like his attitude to much during the game on saturday. He made some plays but then he would start to taunt and walk around screaming and stuff becuase he stopped a third string hb. I know these games are big to them but I dont think there is a need for extra celebration and clouting in preseason.
|
is he ahead of noble on the depth chart? i keep hearing the announcers say hes good
|
I dont think so at this point, warner has been playing in the later qtrs.
|
Salave'a will apparently be the first DT off the bench, but the plan is still for Griffin and Noble to start
|
I think they are just being careful with Noble for now (coming back from the injury and all) and letting the other guys play, but the plan is for him to start during the season.
