Addressing LB Depth

I would like to first start out by saying that I was trying not to make this one of those "How about this guy" threads, but that is essentialy what it is. The name that I am going to throw out there is not some veteran marquis name either. It is a guy that I watched in college and he did even impress some in training camp before he was released due to a hammy injury. Vince Hall was part one of the best LB corps in the college ranks. As most of us know his counter-part Xavier Adibi was drafted in the 3rd round of last years draft. The only reason that Hall draft stock fell was because of an injury that prevented him from working out at the combine. As a result he was not drafted, but signed as an UFA with the Rams. Due to an unfortunate hamstring injury he was released on Aug 4th. In his defense, he was catching the eye of the coaching staff prior to that. The only reason that I bring this guy up is because I believe that he has a legitimate shot at making a solid starter somewhere after he gets over the injury and gathers some more experience.

Bottm line: the Skins are looking for depth at LB and this young raw talent is available. Is it too farfetched to sign this guy and place him on the IR? I realize that he would not be able to help us right away, probably not even this season. However, I feel that he is too valuable to leave out there unsigned. Thoughts?

I think we'll be more interested in the guy from San Fran. We're looking for depth right now and not projects in all honesty.

full disclosure, I'm a Hokie. I love V. Hall & he's like a London Fletcher clone. Maybe that's the problem, Blades is being developed for that position.

I would love to see him here & I believe he'll stick in the nfl provided he gets healthy enough to show his game. I really don't see the skins picking him up though.

we're not going to waste a spot on a guy that can't practice and won't contribute this year.... maybe next year. he's missed too much (and with the injury will miss more) to be useful this season.

I think Sinclair and K. Campbell are proving that they can play more than special teams. It's tough that McIntosh is an accident waiting to happen and Blades needs to playing before now...

Maybe if someone convinces Lynch to play LB, he can come here. LOL.
