I was sort of turned off especially by Edwards saying his wife's cancer was in remission when the affair began, as if that made it ok

Edwards is and has been a slimeball. Politics aside he is donkey. Dems can thank their lucky prayers he didn't get the nom. I think Clinton and Obama are much more decent people.

Nice, the "but I'm not the only one" argument. That's something little children cry when they get caught.

It doesn't make Edwards' actions OK. Cheating on his wife while she's battling cancer? You can't get much lower than that, but from his ambulance-chasing career, we already knew he had no morals.

I'm not defending Edwards at all, I wasn't a big fan of his even before this. Just pointing out that there are plenty of dopes on both sides of the fence.

McCain was banging his current wife Cindy while he was in the process of a divorce. The sad part was his wife was in an even worse situation than Elizabeth Edwards when he gave her her walking papers. I can not in good conscious respect a man who leaves his wife after a debilitating car accidents.

Look, we don't really know any of these guys. Not condoning cheating by any means but I'm not going to stand here and throw stones at them. They have to live w/ their mistakes.

You can call them hypocrites, but if they do a great job for our country and gov't i'm happy.
