Iffy

Has been elevated to the Cardinals starting free safety role.

Big C 08-24-2004 09:53 PM

wow, im really surprised, adrian wilson has been very good for them, and hes just as young. very, very surprised.

Big C 08-24-2004 09:54 PM

oh FS, that means hes starting over Dexter Jackson, even more outrageous!

Daseal 08-24-2004 10:25 PM

Iffy is a great safety and I wish him the best. I think he'll be someone we're going to regret letting go of in less than five years.

Redskins_P 08-24-2004 10:28 PM

I'd rather have Taylor for next 6 or 7 years.....

Daseal 08-24-2004 10:30 PM

Redskins P, I think everyone agrees with that statement. Do you also want Bowen for the next 6 or 7 years? Iffy played SS last year, not FS.

No, I don't want Bowen for next 6 or 7 years. I know iffy played SS last year, but if the coaches chose to stick with Lott, and Franz then that must mean something. Don't you think? Hey I got nothing against Iffy. It just seems like he wasn't really happy here. You gotta admit he played like shit against the Panthers.

Daseal 08-24-2004 10:49 PM

Yeah, well he played solid for us all last year. Maybe he's still adjusting to the system. I think he'll be a quality player and we'll miss him in a few years.

MTK 08-24-2004 11:10 PM

Good for Iffy.

Gmanc711 08-24-2004 11:47 PM

I thought he was singed by Detriot?

SmootSmack 08-24-2004 11:58 PM

Arizona and Detroit both claimed him and since the Cardinals had a worse record last year they got him

Shane 08-25-2004 03:15 AM

Ohalete had to go - he apparently wasn't able to adjust to changing defense and to the fact that Taylor was drafted which was sure to bench him. He probably wanted to get cut early. He wasn't very coachable apparently this summer.

He is much better off in Arizona, a team that really needs him.

JoeRedskin 08-25-2004 05:31 AM

As much as I liked the guy, I am not sure it was a real loss. I thought he and Bowen were of roughly the same quality. Although Iffy was always a "watch this guy, he may be good", he never seemed to take that next step. For every int, there seemed to be a slip somewhere.

As "solid" as he may have been the last couple of years, he certainly hasn't been spectacular. He would flash at times but then disappear. On top of that, he just wasn't getting it under the new regime. He really has stunk up the joint in preseason.

With all that said, he seemed like a decent guy and I wish him the best.

MTK 08-25-2004 08:21 AM

If he would have bought into the system he'd probably still be here.

I thought it was a good message to send to the rest of the team, fall in line or you're out.

For years now we've had guys fighting the system and doing way too much freelancing. Those days are done.

Defensewins 08-25-2004 09:58 AM

Our defensive coaches did not like Iffy for some reason. In fairness to Iffy, he was being played at the wrong position (Free Safety). I think if he was at strong safety from the beggining of training camp, chances are he would still be here. I am still scratching my head as to why he was moved to FS and Bowen was moved to Strong Safety ahead of Iffy? Probably because of Bowens bigger contract. They are less likely to give up on Bowen, because the front office does want to look bad in signing Bowen to begin with. I thought Iffy played slightly better than Bowen last year.
