Vick to join new football league in 09???
I didn't even hear about this league, but this link is saying that Vick is a 98% chance of being signed to this new league starting in 09.

As far as I know, he's still under contract with the Falcons and I've got to assume that the Falcons' lawyer had half a brain and made sure to include broad noncompete clauses in the contract. |

HAHAHAHA...that's an oxymoron! |
Re: Vick to join new football league in 09???
I believe the Falcons cut Vick didn't they? He's not on their roster, so Im pretty sure he's a free agent right now.

I thought that they had to keep him under contract and on the team to fight to get their money back? |
Re: Vick to join new football league in 09???
Well, they've already settled the signing bonus. They got a tiny portion back. Once that happened, I think it was over. I mean, I don't know how he can be under contract but not on the roster.

Re: Vick to join new football league in 09???
For what it is worth, wikipedia says Vick is still under contract with the Falcons but indefinitely suspended by the league. I also googled "Falcons release Vick" and did not get any good hits.

I believe he settled with Atlanta. He's paying his debt to society so when he gets out he should be allowed to make a living. I would think that a team from Canada would sign him. |
Re: Vick to join new football league in 09???
The Canadian league doesn't like to allow convicted felons to play in their league.

He might have settled the SB payback issue with the team, but he's still under contract as far as I know. |

Still, if the NFL doesn't reinstate him immediately it would be easy to see this happening. |
The UFL is targeting major U.S. markets currently underserved in professional football: Austin, Birmingham, Columbus, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Memphis, New York, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Raleigh, Sacramento and San Antonio. In addition, the UFL is looking at international cities Mexico City and London.
Funny how NY is listed as "underserved". Well, they are...NJ has their teams. Mexico City and London? MC is not too ridiculous, but teams who have to go from L.A. to London for their next game won't be too thrilled. Also, the London team is going to have permanent jetlag without some creative scheduling. :D |

Maybe the old CFL, but that doesn't appear to be this new league. |

Well Ricky Williams played there. He's not a felon but he still had issues. I think it would help sell tickets. I think there is a good chance he goes there. |

You pretty much answered it right there. Plus, even though he wasn't a felon alot of the owners up there had serious reservations about letting Ricky play. I don't think they would touch Vick. |
