Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Damn Vince I hope everything is ok with him. I had a friend that committed suicide a while back he would mention it every now and then we blow it off and some months later he shot himself. You never know a person situation and we are all build different something could have happened to him at a young age that triggered his current state of mind there it's no telling. I pray he's ok.

Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Wow.
So a conversation between Young and his therapist, a conversation no doubt predicated on the assumption of absolute confidentiality, is being broadcast all over the country? I don't know what is the most shameful: that this is being reported all over, that people are reading the report (as a matter of principle I refuse to read any articles or reports pertaining to this topic, so I readily admit ignorance and apologize if what I'm saying is based entirely on misinformation) or that Young's therapist managed to leak a confidential conversation to the entire world. Regardless, there is a lot of shame to be shared. Wow. |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
everybody thinks that fame and fortune all at once is great, well guess what?it is'nt.
when you are the bst in college and high school, there are'nt many people as good as you,but at the po level, everybody is equal during the regular season.goin from cheers to loud booing will mess with anybody in that situation. |

Obviously his therapist felt it was a serious enough threat that he chased after him and reported his state to the police. The fact that it is being broadcast does suck, but that's a price you pay as a celebrity. I hope the guys alright . . . yeesh . . . makes me feel a little bad for all the heckling I've done in my day. |

If I was VY, I would wanna die too! lol
i keed i keed |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
I knew that's probably what they were talking about whne they said he was having mental troubles. Getting booed by your home crowd was probably a HUGE blow to his pride and mental stability as a competitor.
I really hope he has it all worked out. |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Apparently this young man has some serious mental issues or problems dealing with pressure and/or failure. I remember the off season issues with VY supposedly being ready to hang it up in this league/retire.
This NFL is a tuff business, with paper thin skin OR mental illness you could be witnessing the outcome firsthand, which this isn't the first time by any means some news of this nature has come out of this league. That sucks, hope the story has a good ending. |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
I still believe that he needs to walk away for awhile (much like Ricky Williams). Maybe he can come back, maybe not. Either way, pay back a portion of the signing bonus and get on some medication.
With all of the poking and prodding from scouts and GM's you'd think they'd uncover mental instability. |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Done, Done, AND.......DONE!

Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Sounds like another case of Michael Westbrook; the game wants more out of you than you're willing/able to give.
Can't help but feel sorry for the guy. |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Talking about suicide is no joke, anytime it's mentioned it needs to be taken seriously. I really hope that Vince Young gets everything figured out for him so he can make his life better because it would be a damn shame if he went that route.
As for the whole confidentiality thing going out the window, I think he deserves it to an extent. When I say that, I mean yes, his therapist should've told the police, but it should've been kept quiet between the cops and the therapist and members of his family, and the only way it should've gotten out was if VY or his family members decided to publicly release that information. |
Re: Police: Search for Young because of suicide talk
Dude has issues. Honestly, the stress of being an NFL QB is not for this guy. It's definitely not good for his wellbeing. If I were the Titans I would help him walk away from the game.
