Warner considered retiring
ESPN just reported that Kurt Warner considered retirement after the hit on Anquan Boldin. He felt like the pass was too high and it was his fault. Warner changed his mind apparently when Boldin was relased from the hospital.
On a side note- Brian Westbrook plans to play against San Fransisco on Sunday despite two broken ribs. |
Re: Warner considered retiring
that's hard to believe.

You never want to see a guy get hit like that. Warner did what he had to do though, it wasn't his fault that the Jets' defender led with his helmet.

Boldin actually gets pushed in the back first. If he doesn't get pushed in the back I think the defender doesn't hit him helmet to helmet, it would be more like facemask to chest and thats they way coaches teach it.

You can watch the video here. He does kinda leads with the helmet, but its clear Boldin gets pushed in the back first. |
Re: Warner considered retiring
kurt warner is one of the good guys in the NFL. always been a fan from his story of being a grocery store bag handler living in his wife's parents basement with 5 kids to superbowl MVP.
a guy who doesnt take anything for granted compared to these 1st rounders today . . usually a qb feels bad if he throws it high leaving his receiver open for a dangerous hit on a short crossing route in the middle of the field . .here it looked like a 30 plus yarder where even the best qb will put high on an occasion, no fault of warner just how football goes sometimes. go skins! |
Re: Warner considered retiring
i've seen plays worse than that one that the player did'nt get a penalty or fine for.

Re: Warner considered retiring
kurt is a class act the nfl needs more players with integrity like kurt. when you have all the bums like ocho cinco and terrell owens not to mention creeps like mike vick. the nfl gets a deservidly bad rep
