Re: Redskins to sign Shaun Alexander?
Maybe LB is worse than they are leading his injury to be..? If it's only a week or two, we have ROCK.

SHAUN TO GET A NEW GIG, FINALLY? Posted by Mike Florio on October 13, 2008, 7:35 p.m. Months after being unceremoniously cut by the Seahawks, former league MVP Shaun Alexander might soon be reuinted with a guy who knows a thing or two about him. Per Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Alexander will visit the Redskins on Tuesday. If he passes a physical, he could be under contract by the end of the day. The ‘Skins are concerned about a knee injury to backup running back Ladell Betts. Alexander previoulsy drew interest from the Bengals, Lions, and Saints. He expressed optimism that he’d have a new team after the first week of the season, but remains unattached. In Washington, Alexander would play for former Seahawks quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn, who returned to Seattle in 2001, a year after Alexander was drafted. |
re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
I heard the reason Alexander wasn't signing with anyone was because he didn't want the backup role? Personally I'm not too fond of this move but I will give him the chance to prove me wrong. I won't be suprised if he plays the way he did his last year in Seattle though.

SA might not be a bad pickup and provides good depth until Betts is back.

re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
Wow. I smell IR coming for one Malcolm Kelly....
Reason I say this is because if we sign Alexander I don't think he'll be cut in a few weeks when Ladell comes back. |

He knows the system

At the price, I think this is a good move because if Alexander proves everyone wrong and doesn't run like a pussy, we have a GREAT backup RB at a bargain price through next year.
And if he sucks, we cut him. |

hm alexander? Not too sure about this one.

re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
Meh. I doubt he even passes Rock on the depth chart. But if Betts has to go on IR then we'd need a third anyway.

re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
This move does'nt exactly excite me. Kelly had fluid drained from his knee and may be put on IR in a couple of weeks depending on his progress, but if he is , the thought is picking up another wide receiver. We're not giving anything up for Alexander so I guess it's not a panic move like Duckett was. I have my doubts about this move, seems like Rock always gets the shaft. Hope I'm wrong.
