Are the lions really as bad as they seem?

from what i have seen, they played their closest game yesterday at houston.
does anybody else think we are walking into a hell of a bad situation next week?granted,we'd have beaten the rams if we had not have had the fumbles, are these guys anywhere close to being as competitive as the rams were before they beat us?i hate games against winless teams!!!!!!

Yes, they are quite terrible. Whereas the Rams and Browns both improved their defensive efforts following the bye, the Lions have remained just as bad on defense.

The Lions' score against the Texans got inflated by a 96 yd TD pass to Calvin Johnson that was an 8 point swing following a conversion (and probably a ten point swing once you conider that it pulled them out of horrible field position). That play absolutely never happens vs. the Redskins.

The Lions are probably much, much worse than they seem.

i just hate having to play a team that has not won a game this season at their place on week 8.it's like asking mrs kennedy "how was the car ride not counting your husband's" murder?" you know what i mean?

Re: Are the lions really as bad as they seem?

The only thing that concerns me about the Lions is us. We have struggled to put up points against teams that we have dominated in yardage. We can't keep this up, it keeps the other team believing that they still have a chance to win. Even as bad as the Lions are all they would need is a fluke play to win a close game.

Re: Are the lions really as bad as they seem?

If your starting quarterback is so bad he doesn't even realize he's been out of bounds for like the last 30 feet and he's still trying to continue the play, then yes, it's a sign of just how bad things are. I don't think he'll ever live that down.

But yes, I'd say the Lions are probably the worst or the second worst team in football right now, it's either them or the Bengals. The only good thing the Lions have going for them is Calvin Johnson, without him they'd look even worse on offense.

I'd like to reiterate though, that this is another trap game. We gotta stay focused this week and put the beatdown on them. We all saw what happened last time we looked ahead and dismissed the Rams, and I'd argue the Rams looked worse before their bye week than the Lions do now.

 Now that's funny. Seriously...they have nothing to play for! The fans are horrible and the GM/ownership is in disarray.
Their offense is ranked 27th and the defense is dead last allowing an average of 418yds a game
Anyone who's seen my predictions knows I'm very conservative. But this is one in which I REALLY want to see a damn blow out!

Um yeah, the Lions really are that bad.

They have a good shot at going winless.

would'nt it be great to see portis get 300 yards rushing and set a new nfl record?
i'll be happy if we just win baby.

They have no QB. With the Roy Williams trade they have gave up the season. Only Detroit can go 0-16.

The Lions are terrible. They looked ok yesterday because Houston isnt much better.

I think the Roy Williams trade officially put the team in rebuild mode for next year. Who knows, maybe they will get lucky this year and draft another stud WR! Yeah, that's the answer!

They are bad, their first 4 games, but the last two, against the Vikings and the Texans were close. Until we actually put the points up to blast a weaker team, every opponent has to be considered capable

Re: Are the lions really as bad as they seem?

Yes, the Lions are god awful. Dan Orlovsky? Really? Also, I believe they are close to if not the worst rushing team in football, coupled with an inexperienced QB and piss poor defense.

There have been plenty of games this year where we can't finish drives and score about 20 points less than we're capable of putting up. This needs to be the game where we hang 35-40 points. 2 rushing TDs for Portis, 3 passing TDs for Cambpell, throw in a FG or two, and we should be right there. Hell, how about a defensive TD? The way the Lions turn it over, it should be possible.

I'm smelling a shutout.

Det is a bad team so I'd have to say yes. If we go in there and turn it over, or score 14 points we could lose.
