how F'd up is this?
I'm in the process of selling my house and we had 4 showings last week. Tonight I go to pop in Call of Duty 4 in my 360, and it's not in the case. I'm like ok, I probably stuck it in another game case. So I check all the game cases and no COD4. So now I'm confused. I check all around the TV and stand and it's still nowhere to be seen. I normally keep my games in the cases all in one spot on my shelf, so losing games just doesn't happen for me. I know it's gone, and I know it must have been someone that's seen my house in the last few days. I'm really at a loss for words right now.

Wow, seems like the economy is really hitting people hard. But seriously, did some of the couples have a kid or something? If it were all adults, then that is truly messed up

You should be able to call your realtor and find out who has came to see your house. Chances are no one will admit to it, but at least let him/her know so they can file a complaint.

Yeah first thing I did was leave a message for my agent. We'll see what happens.

I'm imagining the schmuck as he did a little shopping at your house and on your dime. I know this ain't suppose to be funny but man that is some funny shit. Would make a great SNL skit. Check the rest of your house dude, hope your wife's jewelry is still where it is suppose to be.

Do you really want to claim a $60 video game?

Check the medicine cabinet too. I remember hearing on the radio a year or two ago that prescription drugs are a hot item at open houses.

That's New Yorkers for ya. :P

I had my car window busted out in the ghetto (in a Church parking lot too!)and had my stereo stolen out of my car with a good CD in it. If course they left the case, dummies.

I just went on eBay and bought another used copy for like $5. You should do the same.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT call your homeowners insurance company. Many companies DO count even calling to ask a question about coverage or to get a claim quote as a claim and after (usually) 3, they'll jack your rate up. Yes it happens. So when you DO have to call and ask a general question, don't call from your own home phone and do not tell them your name or policy number. So even if there is, say $500 damage to your house and you know the deductible is close to that or even more, don't even bother telling the insurance company and get it fixed on your own. It will count as a "strike" against you to even report it if they don't cover it, so just do it on your own and keep your rates low. Also, after a certain number of claims, they may tell you that they can't (won't) cover you any more, so don't waste your limited number of claims on petty problems. It will be tougher and more expensive to get coverage after you are dropped.

Re: how F'd up is this?
That sucks man.

Not to be the bearer of doom, but basically you're out a $60 game. Like someone else said, if that's all that was taken there's no use reporting it to your insurance company unless you've got some kind of ludicrously low deductible.

Might be helpful to tell your agent, but I doubt they'll do anything about it and there's no way they go around asking potential clients if they stole a video game from a house that was being shown.

Shit happens, unfortunately. At least you've got a house and an XBox and a family - there's a lot of people in much worse situations, not that that really lessens the "pissed off" factor of having someone swipe your game.

I've got the insurance angle covered, thanks guys.

It's just the principle of it that bugs me. I just hope there's not something else missing that I haven't noticed yet.

I get all my best CD's and DVD's from open houses. Also, have I shown you my new watch?

Seriously, that's just lame.

Re: how F'd up is this?
So I talked to my agent and there's not much he can do. He's been an agent for 10 years and he said he's never had this issue come up. I guess I'm just going to have to pack anything and everything away when people come to see the place. I just didn't think I'd have to worry about having a game stolen. Lame.
