Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List Hall of Fame announces 2009 nominee list |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List [B]i think brian mitchell should get in,i don't know if he will on the 1st ballott.only jerry rice has more total yards than BM does, and that's pretty impressive in my view.i think shannon sharpe she be a first ballott inductee.ralph wilson, bud adams, and ben"giving them the business"Dreith would get my vote,as would bob hayes. Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List sam mills too! |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List i'd say bm has no real shot. i mean 23k special teams yards is nice and all, but if he were a better player, he wouldn't have been relegated like that... AND comparing his TD production to devin hester's isn't very impressive either. |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List Jessie Armstead? Hmmm... |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List John Randle and Bruce Smith are a lock. |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List amounth of redskins eligible is sweet. |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List My picks for getting in: Russ Grimm Bruce Smith Shannon Sharpe Clay Matthews Darren Woodson Ray Guy Of course, we know the voters are on crack sometimes (Mike Irvin reference for getting in before Monk). |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List
While there is no set number for any class of enshrinees, the ground rules provide that between four and seven new members will be selected.
My choices for this year: Bruce Smith Rod Woodson Russ Grimm Richard Dent Ray Guy |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List I think Hall voters need to stop ignoring the contributions of special teams players. It's just ridiculous that someone like Ray Guy can't get a sniff of the Hall. B-Mitch is definitely deserving based on his overall play. The guy could do it all. |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List By Peter King's logic, Shannon Sharpe doesn't deserve it because he was surpassed by Tony Gonzalez as the all-time yardage, receptions, and TD leader. |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List Without doing the research I'm just not sure about Jesse Armstead. Sure, a solid player, but HOF worthy? |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List
Without doing the research I'm just not sure about Jesse Armstead. Sure, a solid player, but HOF worthy?
A case could be made for him. He's a 5 time Pro Bowl player and his stats are pretty solid. In his prime he was one of the better players at his position. I doubt he would get in but his resume is quietly better than some might realize. |
Re: Hall of Fame 2009 Nominee List
I thought only five get in each year.

There is no set number of new enshrinees, but the Committee’s current ground rules do stipulate that between four and seven new members will be selected each year.
