Smoke Signals for Nov. 24: '7-4' edition
What's the bad news about London Fletcher?
Why did Santana Moss apologize? Why is Malcolm Kelly finally a football player? Why is it a good thing Jim Zorn was wrong about Jason Taylor? The answers to those questions and more in today's edition of Smoke Signals. Read it now! |
Re: Smoke Signals for Nov. 24: '7-4' edition
"Santana Moss apologizes for the 15-yard penalty he got for smacking Seattle CB Josh Wilson in the face mask. And well he should. I’m Prez of the Santana Moss fan club, but that was a very stupid penalty and Moss is lucky he wasn’t ejected from the game. Besides, exactly what did he think he was going to hurt by punching a guy in the face mask? Maybe his own hand — that’s about it."
...Everyone in the bar simultaneously said ... "Daaaaaaaaaaaamn!!" when we saw that. That was a moment, for sure. |

Crap. Last person this team needs injured is London Fletcher.
Speaking of Kelly, has he indeed removed Devin Thomas as the third wide receiver? Where the heck was Thomas yesterday. |

You don't want to face a powerful running offense like the Giants have without your Pro Bowl-caliber middle linebacker. I saw Devin Thomas doing a pretty good job covering kicks. Didn't really see him from scrimmage. Maybe once. |

Did anyone see Zorn's presser today and did he mention anthing about Fletcher.

Fletch and Carter are going to get MRI's. |
Re: Smoke Signals for Nov. 24: '7-4' edition
If he's hurt that puts a damper on things but we do have a very well rounded qualifier in Blades. right? How about a LB corpse of Taylor, Blades, and Macintosh(sp)? Have Carter on one end and Chris Wilson or James on the other. We might even get to the QB more often.
All accounts from what I've heard Moss should have been ejected. Having said that how many times do you see players throwing punches and refs simply breaking it up. Half the time I think I'm not interpreting some of the slaps correctly. I see two players get up after a play and one smacks anothers helmet kinda hard I start wondering. but I doubt Moss would say it was one of those types of taps. |
Re: Smoke Signals for Nov. 24: '7-4' edition
Moss said he had complained several times to the refs already, so I have a feeling that they could see it coming maybe even warning the seahawks player earlier, also may be why the pass interference call came later. certainly settled down after those two flags.

F*CK. Carter hasn't been anything special this year, but losing Fletch would be downright devastating, especially with Marcus being his usual dinged up self. Fletch NEVER misses a game, and he's enough of a veteran that he doesn't need a ton of practice to be ready to go... but PLEASE may that MRI come back clean... |
Re: Smoke Signals for Nov. 24: '7-4' edition
If Carter misses I wonder if they will put Jason Taylor back on the Right side....
I wonder what the DB did to make Santana so mad. He is usually pretty even tempered so it must have been something bad. |

If Fletch cannot play, Blades would take his place and Fincher would play Marcus's spot. Also may play more 3 DB sets and 2 Backers. Fletch hopefully only has a sprain, he will not comment on whether it's low or high or whatever at this point. |

I hope Kelly gets some experience in the remaining games so that he and Thomas can be ready to contribute next year. This passing offense can be so offensive some times. |
