Coughlin Makes the Pro-Redskins Argument
 

Yes, I realize this is just coach-speak...defending oneself against a loss and setting up accomplishment after a win, but here is how Tom Coughlin describes the Redskins to the media:

Fletcher is, of course, the quarterback of that defensive team and had an outstanding game against us here in Game 1. Their secondary is really loaded with very good cover people. [DeAngelo] Hall was at it. You know about Rogers, Springs and Smoot. They are outstanding. Landry, the outstanding safety, plays very deep, comes down from deep center field to get involved with both run and pass. [Shaun] Suisham, the kicker, has a very strong leg. They have outstanding return men in Randle El and [Rock] Cartwright plus [URL="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2564"][COLOR=#0000ff]Santana Moss[/COLOR][/URL], the big play player, has an 80-yard return which he was able to negotiate versus Detroit. lol. If he would've made that kick. It probably could of changed the outcome of the Dallas game. Oh well, we gotta move on. I hope he kick some nice ones for us against the Giants because we need as many points we can get to win this game.

He knows us as well as anyone knows us, which is one of the reasons they win games. We will not surprise him.

His comments are somewhere between Lou Holtz and Joe Gibbs.

If he wanted to be honest, he could say something like, "we're better than the Skins in the trenches on both sides of the ball, and for that reason alone, we'll likely pull out a win in a tough road game."

But you'll never get that from a coach. Even the verbose Jim Zorn.

That said, I'll really love to see Eli Manning taste the turf at FedEx a few times.
