How is bringing in an OC no continuity? Zorn is calling the plays right now and we all know how well that's working out. We keep the same playbook and have someone sitting in the booth actually running them with some sort of strategy. As for if Martz is that guy? Can't say for sure. |

I agree about getting some WCO coaches on staff but Mike Martz wouldn't help b/c he wouldn't know the WCO either. |
Re: Mike Martz
I'm all for bringing in an OC but unless he has background in the WCO it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

Re: Mike Martz
I'm not at all for Mike Martz. The guy thinks he's a genius and he's stunk ever since leaving the Rams. No thanks

Re: Mike Martz
Pretty sure I asked this question in another thread and didn't hear anything back: who might Zorn bring in as a WCO playcaller/OC? After all the time he's spent in football he's got to have some folks he's thought of working with.

Re: Mike Martz
Why does Dorn need to bring in a new coordinator. He already brought in Sherman Smith, who was his own guy, last year.

I don't think Zorn plans on anyone else calling the plays but him. Unless he decides to turn it over to Sherman Smith. Remember, he doesn't think the playcalling is the problem....it's the execution. |

I still tend to agree w/ him, but it's pretty obvious, almost painfully obvious, the playbook has to be expanded to make our offense really competitive. Been wondering if Zorn just hasn't trusted the guys enough, not just the rooks but JC and the rest of the veteran squad also, to open things up and get crafty? From his perspective it's pretty reasonable to demand execution on the simple stuff before graduating his players to the "magic" we all know resides in WCO land. :D |

:D[/quote] I think that's how he sees it. |

I disagree. Zorn wore way too many hats this year, what with running the whole show, calling his own plays AND acting as JC's position coach; the end result was a too-predictable attack and often silly clock/execution mistakes in games. Bringing in an OC who would call the plays lets him focus more on continuing to coach his QB up, and getting the rest of his team to play harder for him than they did this year after that stellar 6-2 start. Besides, Martz is nothing if not a brilliant offensive coordinator. The man knows how to go at defenses and score points in bunches. After the year this fledgling Midwest Coast Offense has just had I for one would love me a little of that. |
Re: Mike Martz
Martz looks like a deer in the headlights, or like Eli.

A superbowl champ in the past decade? Oh yeah, they both have that! Not that I think that he's the guy for the job. Besides, why would Zorn can his own boy after one year? |
Re: Mike Martz
Only if you're interested in killing off Jason Campbell. And I'm not talking about having to learn a new offensive system.
