no. He's done.(speculation) I'll try and find a new link.
We don't need a LT to the Redskins Thread that's for sure:)

We wouldn't really benefit from adding him, but I definitely don't think he's done. He's got some good years left. He could actually be a really good addition for the Saints, what with Deuce McAlister probably going.

Smoot. I ment to say he's done like he's no use to us. I was a little unclear there. He may indeed have some more. But to late to help us I agree.

This story is still not concerate but from what I read it's not just a rumor. The teams GM commented on it as a real cosideration

It's true, they are considering trading him or possibly just releasing him. At the same time, the GM has said that (and it could just be playing hardball with Sproles' agent) that they have no intention of making Sproles their featured back, though they want him back. So they're going to need a starting running back. Hello Ladell Betts trade!

***Breaking News***44ever may not have a link to this story laden with complete hearsay...

I will try to post a link when I find one...details are hazy right now. At this point whether he has a link is wild speculation but this story could turn into partially founded rumor...stay tuned!

Good point on Sproles. Ladell Betts, Didn't even start thinking that far yet. Very interesting!

Really funny Skinny. That was good! I did find the link and added it to the original thread starter. Still laughing. :)

Nice scoop.

Who'd of thought that LT could be a cut consideration. I hope he's not turning into the second coming of the tiptoe burgular. I'd hate to see elite running backs be washed up at an early age.

Atlanta should trade for him to make up for lost time.

You cannot be serious. I highly doubt that anyone views Ladell Betts as a featured back or even a 2nd back worth trading for. Maybe last season, but not now. Seriously, replacing LT with Betts?...That sounds like a couple of steps backwards if you ask me.

They're going to have to replace him with someone

I think the SD GM knows the gradual decline of RB's after they get a certain age (30) or carries. LT has played alot and does have some good years left in him but they most likely see this as trading high rather than low. They can get good value for him i would guess. I really can't argue w/ that logic. If they can get a first rounder for LT, would you take it. He's been nursing injuries for 2 years.

Let's look in the mirror here. We all love CP, but he's an "old" 26 (i think 26 years old). The question has got to be raised.

Look at the Eagles. They go to the extreme. If you're older than 30 they generally don't need you. You're done, cut, traded.

I wouldn't go that far but i do believe this is a young man's game now. Vet's are good but too many of them and you've got a problem.

Portis is 27 but who's counting:)

even with LTs injuries and and age he would be extreamly tempting for some teams. Not a good fit here IMO.

I would love to have Ward from the Giants to compliment Portis. That's another thread.

The thought of LT being cut or traded still seems crazy and a little sad. But I still have to see it to believe it.
